Default Joel Dreessen on a milk carton

I am so surprised Denver doesn't get Dreessen on the field at all.

Joel Dressen not better than the other three TEs on the roster down?

How is it that we couldn't afford to keep Dreesen yet the Broncos can afford to have him as their 4th string TE and add Welker?

It's not that we couldn't afford him, just chose not to. We would have over paid for him just like Denver has done.

Denver only has two player in double figures towards the salary cap. Add that with all the young players on rookie wage scale contracts you have the room. They will have to spend some money to keep J. Thomas, D. Thomas and E. Decker when their rookie contracts run out.

IIRC, our offer to Dreessen was similar to what Denver was offering. Maybe a little less, but he and his wife chose Denver to be closer to home.

Correct, Broncos were his childhood team. He got to go home.

Dreessen missed most of training camp with complications from June knee surgery. He has only played in weeks 4,5,6,8, & 11. (and 12, where he got 1 target). Julius Thomas has been a nice receiving surprise. Dreessen's run blocking has been sub-par.

No one knew who he was prior to the season .... Then he blew up as a fantasy player in weeks 1 & 5 and has been on everyone's radar since.
