I'm just hoping our D Line can create enough havoc to mask our deficiencies behind them.

I think if Cierre Wood makes the 53, we won't hear about any injury whatsoever from Ben Tate. He'll be begging to go in the game with a separated shoulder ala Emmit Smith.

Rookie OLB Trevardo Williams had 3.5 sacks. Only 3 players in league had more. Bryan Braman had 3 and Terrell McClain 2.5.

Randy Bullock had 12 touchbacks to tie for third in league

Rookie TE Ryan Griffin, a 4th round pick, ranked 2nd in league with 14 catches. He'll make team as third tight end.

Undrafted rookie Cierre Wood ran for 191 yards to rank 5th in league in preseason

Case Keenum led league with 482 yards passing in preseason.

With TJ Yates and Case Keenum playing so well Texans led league with 1,201 yards passing and 444.3 yards per game.

Texans were 4th in rushing, 4th in defense and 12th in pass defense in preseason.

For what it's worth: Texans led NFL in Offense, Passing Offense and Run Defense in preseason.

Am I wrong? I don't believe Trevardo had a "whole bunch" of snaps. I think Braman had a bunch & 3 sacks for the number of snaps he had isn't very impressive, especially considering 2 of the three were more hustle than beating his opponent (all sacks are good & all, but...)

Terrell McClain also had a lot of snaps, but from his position, that's promising.

I'd really want to hear a Marciano press conference. Tell us why the STs suck so much! Why does he think he still deserves to be here!

3 sacks in 4 games! Projected over a 16 game season is 12 sacks! And this isn't impressive? Weeks ago I wrote I was hoping for 15 sacks from an outside linebacker position and if I remember correctly, it was pretty unanimous that this was not realistic. So if 15 is unrealistic and 12 is unimpressive, what would you think we should be looking for?

I now don't think Braman is the answer as a full time starter, but he does show promise in his pass rush skills. But I'm also not certain he makes the team this season. If Tuggle makes the team, we'd have to keep 11 LB's for Braman to have a chance. So it comes down to Tuggle or Braman.

They're playing against scrubs.... 3 sacks in 4 games.... it's the preseason. Had they both played the same number of snaps, I'd agree with the consensus, that Trevardo doesn't show much promise..... but 3.5 sacks in substantially less snaps... I think that is impressive.

I haven't actually seen him play myself, I usually concern myself with something else. If I go back & watch the games, I'll have to pay attention to Trevardo & see what he has.

I'm not seeing it. He's got hustle & want to, he plays to the whistle... but I'm not seeing any skills or propensity for getting to the QB. Surely we can find a place on this team where he can contribute, I think he can be a heckuva football player. But I'm not seeing him as a pass rusher.

What actually happens matters.

If you have 5 snaps against a bad player and/or don't get blocked on any five plays you could end up with 5 sacks.

That doesn't mean you showed more ability than a guy with 40 snaps with 15 being run plays, 8 being plays where you were in coverage, 5 where you stunted to get someone else a free lane and 5 where the qb threw the ball in a three step drop without any possibility at a sack. And oh yeah, youre playing against better competition.

This is not to say one guy is better than the other, but I don't get your logic here. Seems like a terribly basic way to look at things when we just had four straight weeks to look at actual football situations.

Braman had 95 snaps, Trevardo had 77 snaps, McClain had 107.

PFF had Braman with 4 sacks, Trevardo 4, and TMac with 2.
