The "not contributing this year statement" I believe came from Roto not Kubiak. Roto are awesome news breakers, but their analysis is poor at best IMO.

if Kubiak did say that, which I don't think he did, I retract everything though.

If you don't want to worry about it, go right ahead. But Dale Robertson of the Chronicle is the source. Rotoworld has no commentary on this subject. Besides, it's hard to "step up" when you have a bum knee or bum ankle.....and the offseason has already blown by you

Johnny Adams, who was waived/injured to make room for Joe Mays, evidently cleared waivers and is now on the IR.

Thanks for the info., any details of the injury, severity? I liked Adams coming out of college and was glad when the Texans signed him as an UDFA. I had hopes for him with the Texans. IR might be a good place for him and maybe he can show what he's got next year in TC depending on the severity of the injury.

That's good news. I actually had us taking Adams late in the draft in a couple mocks. Glad to see we got him back.

At Michigan, he played a good part of the last half of the season with a turf toe injury. On top of that, he entered the Combine with a hamstring strain........and still ran the 40 in 4.43.......with the strain being extended. From what I read somewhere on nfldraftscout.com, he suffered an unspecified knee injury which would probably require surgery and was therefore waived/injured, cleared waivers, then placed on IR. Would not be surprised if this were a compensatory injury related to his toe and/or hamstring conditions which were still giving him problems documented at least through his Pro Day. Hopefully he will be able to come back next year after a full year of surgery, rehab, and rest, as he was projected as a 2nd or 3rd rounder before his problems cropped up.

Because rookie wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has garnered a lot of praise, the performance through a week of camp by fellow wideout Keshawn Martin has flown under the proverbial radar. But Martin’s growth hasn’t escaped general manager Rick Smith.

(He’s) probably the brightest thing I’ve seen at the (wide receiver) position,” Smith said Thursday on Texans Radio. “Obviously I love what DeAndre’s doing, but Keshawn and his jump is really significant. He’s been making plays and you can see his progression.”

You have to worry about ANY groin problem. They usually begin as small adductor muscle tendon tears and have a strong propensity to be chronic season-long type of problems, ala JJo and Brooks Reed.

Also have a tendency to put you back in Kubiaks doghouse. I wouldn't be too surprised if they just cut him outright after all the talk about how good the UDFA's look

All i have to say is Nuk catches everything. He and Schaub seem to have jelled nicely. I can't wait till next Saturday to watch him at live game speed. He was up against JJo and uses his hands well to get separation.
