LOL, very funny.
But I remember that one time somebody complaint about how Jacoby should have ran an adjusted route on a certain broken play; remember?

The end of the Oakland game here that resulted in a INT?

For those Menses players on our team, I present a poster to be hung in the locker room:

Offensive Formula for when in 3rd down and "X" situations:

On 3rd down and X yds, go to (and throw to) [X +1] yds (beyond the line of scrimmage)

I'm afraid the third down procedure is a tad more complicated than that; to wit....

Step 1.
Make pre-snap read (i.e., does defense have 11 men on field? defensive formation, cover scheme, blitz pkg unimportant)
If Yes: Call play. Go to step 2 to decide which play

If No: Wait until they do (call timeout as required)

Step 2.
Check distance to 1st down (known as "X").
If X>0 but <2 call run (preferably to Foster)
If X>2 but <8 call pass (preferably to A.J.)
If X>8 Run draw play

The more I watch of him (limited options available) the more I'm subdued and quietly start liking the pick. I especially like the way he reaches out for the ball and snags it. Not just waiting for it to arrive to him. He also has some nice agility, and I can totally see the potential to get open easily if the defender slacks at all guarding him.

Here is a rookie profile from Fantasyguru.
Quote:
Full Name: Michael Alan Bonner
School: Jacksonville State | Ht: 5-10.5 | Wt: 193 | 40: 4.52 | Year: 4Sr

Bio: Two-year starter who registered 50 receptions/859 yards/8 TDs as a senior after 33/582/3 the prior season.

Positives: Well-rounded pass catcher with marginal physical skills for the next level. Solid route runner who quickly gets into breaks, and keeps the play in bounds running after the reception. Extends to make receptions away from his frame, looks the ball into his hands, and displays good hand/eye coordination. Solid downfield blocker who seals open the running lanes.

Negatives: Lacks playing balance and tends to do a lot of slipping or readjusting to get back to playing form. One-speed receiver who lacks a burst.

Final Analysis: Bonner was a solid college receiver who was also used a return specialist. He's more of a practice-squad player and a prospect who must earn his wage on special teams.
Basically what's been said already on this board

Nothing wrong with that.
Quote:
After one season on the practice squad, Smith appeared in all 16 games the following year, contributing primarily on special teams.
It was Smith’s eagerness to contribute in any way possible that raised the attention of the team’s coaching staff at the time and led to opportunities to increase his playing time.
“You have no choice,” he said about playing on special teams. “There are only 11 spots on offense and defense. Special teams is where they decide whether they’re going to keep some guys or not. A lot of guys think, ‘Well, I play receiver or I play linebacker.’ No, you play football. That means you play whatever they need you to play to give yourself a chance to make the football team. For me, returning punts, covering kicks – whatever it was, I just wanted to have a chance to be on that football team and that was a spot. You just want to get one of the spots. There are only 53 of them, you need to get one of them. The more you can do, the better your chances.”

Here's a photo of Matt informing his guys that they are now on step two .

Here's a picture of Matt getting the taser helmet activated for calling an audible .

Here he us making a couple td passes in their upset of ole miss.

Can't tell much from those clips, but he seems to have good acceleration.
I like the way he snatched the ball out of the air there on the first TD.

Before those two catches, he had a nice one for 30 yd from the slot.
He put on a double move that left the nickel in the dirt then went up to high-point the ball and pulled it in nicely.

After rookies mini camp:

The quickness he possesses in and out of cuts was evident, and he has more size than 5'10" and 193 pounds would indicate. He has more of a Percy Harvin-type build—thick and compact with broad shoulders.

Bonner appears to be a much more skilled receiver than Anderson and will compete with Martin for slot snaps right away.

I don't know. If he's 190, he's not 5'10"

If he's 5'10" he's not 190.

Then again, I didn't think Posey was 6'1" 205lbs
He looks taller, slimmer.

Sure, that's believable. But, what kind of standup comic is Bonner? Let's not go crazy in comparing Bonner to former Texan legends like David Anderson.
