From what little I've found on him, he sounds like a good pick for the 6th round.

Seems underrated with a good motor. Can't go wrong in the 6th with that

From what I'm seeing, he looks like a good pick to me. High motor, penetrator.

I think he'll be good in rotation with Mitchell.

Wasn't a guy a looked at, but what I've seen so far he looks like a good player. Looks like he could challenge Mitchell for playing time to me. Very good pass rusher, looks strov against the run.

B. Nice pick, fills a need. I dont think he has starter potential, but you rarely get starters this late.

Grade A

For a late sixth rounder, it's going to be very difficult to find a better prospect than Jones.
Even if he ends up as a rotational player, it's still great value.

Scout's Take: Chris Jones [HT.com]

Quote:
Director of college scouting Mike Maccagnan
I didnt necessarily make this school call. I did actually see him play this fall and evaluated him on tape. The thing that really stood out to me when I watched him was he was at the end of the day just a really good football player at that level. Hes very instinctive, a very good technician, a high-, high-energy, high-effort, high-motor player. Hes not your prototypical height weight, per se. Hes maybe a tad shorter stature, but he plays with very good leverage, very good hand use. When you watch him, the instincts really show up combined with the motor, and he competes
so that he makes plays inside the tackle box, outside the tackle box. He was an extremely productive pass rusher as an interior lineman. Usually, the guys getting lots of sacks tend to be on the outside, but this guys actually playing inside. He was a very, very, very productive player in college, and some of the things he does well, you would think would translate to the next level also. Itll be interesting to see how he does when we obviously put the pads on and get to training camp, but (hes) a guy thats made a very positive impression so far, and a guy that when were sitting there looking at potential guys later in the draft, its the type of guy you go through this process and you sort of see guys in the back of your head, youre going, I hope it works out where we get him somewhere in the draft and add him to our mix.

Jones improved his play from 2011 to 2012, you can see it even in the first game against the Gators.

The things that I mentioned when I evaluated his 2011 tapes, and remarked that I liked to see him work on.

I really like this pick in the sixth round.
Great potential to be the Texans best sleeper yet.
