Welker is a big-name with a big-rep who got a very average deal at best, even our (make that use to be our) John Casey got a better contract. Therefor it's unlikely Welker will be a major player in this years AF championship race.

I know it's like this every year. But this year, the deals just seem dumber? Mike Lombardi is spending like a drunken sailor. He should be fired before the Browns take the field. Dashon Goldson gets $22 million guaranteed? Really, Tampa Bay? The Dolphins probably earn the Daniel Snyder award for biggest idiots in free agency. QB money for Mike Wallace? A combined $60 million for the two inside linebackers? Just insane.
