Turns out he is 6'1" 214 lbs. Ran a 4.50 and lifted 15 times.

Default Re: Mike Mayock 2013 Draft thread

Arthur Brown has a shoulder injury which prevented him playing in the Senior Bowel and participating in the combine. No reports on the extent of the injury have been released, but it has everyone interested in Brown concerned. Kansas State's pro day is March 12 and his draft status will likely drop (how much?) if his medical status is not more positive by this time.

Wow! That's amazing for a guy who had a near-death experience just a few months ago.

A DE at #27 looks like a real possibility for the Texans.
It's not too early to prepare for the exit of Antonio Smith and an insurance policy in case Watt simply costs toooo tooooo much.

Cherry picking that list; I would settle for:

Datone Jones DE in the first.
Choice of Armstead OT or Sio Moore ILB/OLB in the second.
Shamarko Thomas SS and Jesse Williams NT in the third.

And how much is that? My bet is he'll command more than Mario did. Will the Texans pony up? I can't see McNair letting him hit the open market...at least I hope not. I want to see him retire a Texan and five years later be fitted for his gold jacket.

What would it take to....

Grab one of the good WRs off Mayock's Top 5 list,

Then....

Trade back into the first round (New England is always game for that) and grab the top TE, Mr. Eifert from Notre Dame.

That'd give us a legitimate WR-TE combo to pair with AJ, OD, Graham and Martin. Grooms those two rookies to take AJ and OD's positions in the future.

Could we give up our 2013 2nd and next year's 2nd rounder to get it done? I don't know the draft position calculations well enough to know yes or no. I'm assuming any aggressive move(s) we make would call for next year's 2nd rounder in most situations.

Sort of ready to see us create a new chapter here by selecting better talent on the offense side of the ball.

I'm just ready for this draft. I don't see too many ways that we can go wrong with our first four picks. Lots of good talent there. It's the late ones where it seems like Smith always try's to get cute and passes on good players for players no one has ever heard of.
