Lane Johnson could be a first rounder. He's quick, fast, and strong.
I would love to have him as our RT.

He might not last to our pick though.

I like the TE Eifert; if he's there at 27, he should be a consideration; not sure it's a position that we can afford to draft that high though.

Both Woods and Williams have a great chance to be a good number 2 like Hamilton. I have a hard time choosing between many of these guys... But a guy like Hunter has a higher ceiling due to his measurable.

I like Williams, of course, but I'm not big on USC pass catchers. It just seems they have all been more hype then anything once they get to the NFL dating back to Keyshawn Johnson. Hamiltion could be a good option later in the draft as he seems to be projected as a possible 3rd rounder.

I don't understand the Eifert interview. Maybe they are just going thru the motions & interviewing certain players despite it not necessarily being a need position. Eifert doesn't even fit what the Texans need at that position & it seems to be noted as he stated he tried to show the Texans he could block. They need a blocking TE that can catch, not a TE known for primarily catching w/ suspect speed.

He would be tough to pass on if he makes it to the 27th, but I watched him at the Senior Bowl during the week of practice (one-on-ones), and he was impressive, very athletic.

Lane is likely first rounder. With LJ looking like a strong candidiate for #1 overall and Eric Fisher looking like a top 10, Lane could be top 15/top 20. Athletic, multi year starter for Oklahoma on the blindside.

Hamilton looks like a solid #2 WR. Good size, speed, and hands. Not excellent, but would be an upgrade over everyone on the roster not named Andre Johnson. Likely a 2nd round draft pick(mid to late second.)

Texans are in a tough spot financially. In order to save money in order to sign/resign others, they may decide to cut Daniels and draft another TE.

Johnson wont make it past the Bears at 20 and most likely will be the Chargers pick at 11.

It seems like the Texans are are hoping that one of Williams/Woods/Hamilton will be available in the 2nd rd. It could happen, but most likely the Texans would have to trade up into the 40 range to get one of those guys.

All of these guys have the ability to be difference makers, defintely not bottom feeders.

The Texans have always interviewed late round guys a lot more than early guys. Go look at past years, the majority of their interviewees are 3-7th round picks and UDFAs.

In years past we've always interviewed late round or UDFA prospects almost exclusively, I think for fear of tipping our hand as to what direction we're going in the draft. This year seems to be different. Going from this list there seems to be alot of early round prospects and WR that we're talking to.

I would argue given the way the Texans used Kevin Walter, a "soft' TE who is bigger and faster could literally take his place. the top four or so TEs are really overgrwon WRs as they have spent a lot of time spread away from the formation or in the slot or motioning out of a bunch formation. this is how the pats use Aaron hernandez for example.

You could put Terron Armstead at TE/WR, he's faster than Walter/OD if you need a blocking WR/TE. Kinda sad really. LOL

I haven't seen much mentioned about OD possibly being a cap casualty. His cap number has been mentioned in the past due to him playing TE, but OD had a heck of a season, IMO, & it seemed the focus had shifted some to Antonio's number of late. Eifert still doesn't fill a need. The Texans needed a bigger blocking TE, which neither OD or Graham could fill very well. Graham, I believe, would fill the pass catching TE role if OD were let go & the blocking TE is still needed. Something Eifert is not known for. Cutting Walter is a start in gaining some wiggle room on the cap...
