2013 Houston Texans Mock Draft
1R. Alec Ogletree - ILB - Georgia Side by side with Cushing would be a great fit 2R. Da'Rick Rogers - WR - Tennessee Tech Explosive, Toughness; unafraid of hard hits. Routinely comes down with difficult catches and great combination of size and speed, excellent run after the catch ability. Plays with an attitude, Good route-runner, Scheme versatility, Extremely athletic, Very good body control, Makes highlight-reel catches, Quickness to get separation, Physical with cornerbacks. 3R. Sean Porter - OLB - A&M Great player all round He can tackle and sack behind Whitney and Brooks 4R. D.J. Swearinger - S - South Carolina Swearinger has not only proven to be the heart and soul of the South Carolina defense, but is the squad's most versatile performer. He played a key part in the Gamecocks' pass defense against two of the most proficient passing attacks in the country Clemson and Arkansas. He played some cornerback in both games. He played press man against both team's top receivers for part of each game, including Tigers standout Sammy Watkins. When he moved back to free safety, his task was to guard against deep passes. 5R. Carrington Byndom - CB - Texas A very good Man to Man CB. Has good speed and hand eye coordination. Can be a # 2 and put Kareem in the Nickel and Dime position witch is the slot cb.. Alittle off topic with the big hits and good zone coverage, Kareem possesses the skills to be a good safety probably better then Glover 6R. Nick Florence - QB - Baylor Mobile in pocket and can pass short, mid and deep passes well rounded A little slower RG3 we can call him NF3 7R. Cierre Wood - RB - Notre Dame Good Receiving Back, would be good in screens plays and draws 2013 Free Agent Jake Long - OT Randy Starks - NT |

Not a bad mock although you don't have us taking any DL.
And you lost me at.... 2013 Free Agent Jake Long - OT Randy Starks - NT 0% chance of that even being a possibility.

Long has been rated as high as a 2nd round pick and no lower than a 4th .... by anyone I've seen.

The compensatory picks havent been decided yet .... but its safe to assume that we will have a 3rd round comp pick from the loss of MW.
There is the possibility of more picks from the 5th on from Briesel and Dreesen (One more that evades me right now). See Dutchrudder's stickied offseason thread above and it will explain it.

He is the #1 Wr in this draft and the only reason he will fall is because of his pot issues. Wr comes down to this for me. Hunter and Rodgers are both probably going to be available when the Texans pick in the 1st rd. They're both elite prospects. Both have Risks/issues, Rodgers/Pot and Hunter ACL, Hunter is taller and was faster before the ACL, Rodgers is plenty fast, is more physical/better blocker and has better hands. (Perfect fit for the Texans offense) Which one would you take? |

Da'Rick also failed drug test, for which he served indefinite suspension from then Tennessee coach Derek Dooley, so he transferred to Tennessee Tech. Rogers caught 61 passes for 893 yards and 10 touchdowns to earn second team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors but given the competition hardly anything to support such a high grade, IMO.
