TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals have filled the NFL's final head coaching vacancy by hiring Indianapolis offensive coordinator Bruce Arians.

The team confirmed the hiring in a release Thursday night, saying Arians received a four-year contract with a club option for a fifth year.

The 60-year-old longtime assistant went 9-3 as Colts interim head coach while Chuck Pagano was undergoing treatment for leukemia last season.

I for one, am not going to miss him anytime soon, as I feel that he is one of the main reasons the Colts won as many games as they did this year. I really want to see what Luck and the Colts offense will look like next year.

Not to mention Arians was probably the reason they got to the playoffs in the first place. Chuckstrong went 2-3 as the head coach this year.

Yay for the Texans!!...errr....the Cardinals!

I agree with the above sentiment. Anything that weakens our division opponents is a good thing. I agree with the sentiment that Arians was a big part of the Colts success and this could set them back a little.

Some speculation I have seen, attached to this story, is that the Colts might be looking at Luck's o-coord from Stanford to replace Arians in Indy.

To see the least, this is going to make things interesting one way or the other.
