I don't think people expected our defense to change the way it did by losing Mario Williams. He was a HUGE factor, more than people gave him credit for at the time. Losing Cushing took our D to a new low. We need to draft an inside linebacker in one of the first two rounds.

And do you realize that a couple teams left in this SB chase attempted fewer passes than we did?

The combo of Smith and Kaepernick lacked Schaub more than 100 attempts, did you realize that?

I understand the Mario issue, I never said anything about letting him go to Buffalo. I said our biggest need became outside pass rusher & we need to address that in the offseason. They went & got Merciless...... which looked good on the surface, but I never expected that much drop off in both Barwin & Reed.

& we've been reeling ever since Cushing went out. Keeping Demeco would have fixed that problem right there. He's not as good as Cushing, but he's a lot closer than Mr Alexander.

Many people don't want to admit it, but we knew.

But hey, we did address it.

As long as either Brooks Reed or Connor Barwin were able to repeat their success, we would have been ok. In case neither of them were able to produce, we drafted the best pass rusher at our spot.... or so they say.

We had three reasons to believe our outside rush would be sufficient & failed on all three.

Luckily Jj Watt surpassed all expectations.

Brady wouldn't have scored 41 points if we had a good day from Mario Williams.

I don't know if 28 points would have been enough though.

I'm not saying we don't have problems on offense, just saying our problems on defense was not having a replacement for Mario Williams. I said last year that chances are either Brooks Reed or Connor Barwin were not going to maintain. I didn't think neither of them would.

I also didn't expect to replace Demeco with Bradie James & have Cushing go out early in the season.

The Texans scored 2 TD's after Belichik called off the dogs and started playing prevent defense. But carry on about how the Texans were the best losing offense in the playoffs. Stats are for losers, scoreboard is all about winners.

Only 2 two of those teams scored more than us in the regular season;
And the Falcons only had 3 more points (I'm not 100% sure, but I think we had more offensive points than they do.)

Where did I mention Schaub? I used to be a Schaub guy but they need to upgrade the position because he will never be the same due to his foot injury. (Check with the medical people on the MB and I believe you will find that this is NOT an overstatement)

The Texans obviously need a speed/productive WR2 to open up the offense. An OG/RT need to be upgraded as well. So no, this isn't all on Schaub. Also Gary has had a history of being a conservative playcaller. (Not today)
