Today just like they lost five weeks ago. It on the team. That is all.

Yes they did lose. I love this team to death, but i feel like Kubiak is wasting away our talent and our window to win a SB will close. AJ dont have many years left, Some of our key players will be coming up to either resign or let walk.
I cant stand watching all of our talent getting waisted while Schaub keeps getting a pass for mediocra play.

Things to look forward next season= Cushing coming back, merciless and young wide receivers developing
Things not looking forward to= Kubiak coaching the texans another season. Shaub starting. |

If Manning was a little faster....
If Casey could have caught that first TD pass... If Schaub was a little more accurate... If our defense didn't give up 41 points... At least refs aren't involved in this. We lost in every phase of the game, except, ironically, special teams.

He made good challenges He went for it on fourth down when neccessary He called good plays but their QB played with happy feet and checked down or threw it away when he had more time to look deep. Hell, he caused his own fumble and basically sacked himself for crying out loud. No... this one is on Schaub. |

So, in two years, we're looking at JJ's contract AND Andre's possible retirement, AND questions about our QB. |

Schaub is the kind of QB who can win big with a dominating defense and a really good run game supporting him. The run game can get back to that with a redevelopment of the left side of the line. The defense needs one more star player, preferably a headhunting safety, along with the return of Cushing to per-injury form.
IOW, if Rick nails this offseason, 2013 could be great. If not, though, Schaub's ceiling will continue to be the Texans's. |

Kubiak drives me crazy. Another example...Manning tearing it up on kick offs but only just now going out there. Yes...I know there is some concern over injury, but wasn't the final game vs. Indy pretty much a playoff game? The gutless wonder doesn't use everything at his disposal once again.

Matt S. has a weak arm, he is not accurate, he cannot make the long completions down the field like Flacco made, he's immobile and quite literally pathetic.

Surely you have to put the fact that we are stuck with Schaub squarely on Kubiak's back. I mean, right now had they let Schaub walk at the end of his contract, or even been willing to take the chance, we'd be about $10 million better off right now and have our pick of one of the better QB carousels we've been faced with in years. I'm not even looking at Schaub's mistakes too negatively today, because its the good plays that he can't make that hurt us more than the bad plays he did make that limit all kinds of play-calling. 2 years ago Schaub was a top ten QB. But so was Phillip Rivers. Right now, both those guys have regressed whilst the overall quality around the league has risen enormously with the recent rookie classes. Whoever said they're all for moving onto Yates, I'm not far off, I'm all for cutting Schaub, gambling on one of Flynn, Smith or Vick/taking our favourite QB available to us in the top 2 rounds of the draft and being comfortable if Yates wins the competition.

I'm all for giving the nod for competition between Yates and Case after cutting Schaub. Both have shown potential we cant be any worse than we are with Schaub at the reigns.

Sadly I don't see Kubes taking the risk, and who could blame him, he'll reach the playoffs with Schaub for the next couple of seasons until the talent around him begins to cost too much and the guys hitting FA for the first time start to walk whether we want them or not. He takes the gamble and it leads to another 6-10 season and I doubt Bob will be as forgiving. So yeah, the more I think about it, the less chance I see of us getting rid of Schaub this offseason. No way it makes sense for Gary/Ricks job security.

No but that holding call on third down by KJ put an end to any chance of a comeback .... Looked like a phantom call to me.
