Bill Belichick: Talk about another rout of Texans is 'garbage'

I believe that what Bill was really saying is this:

"Nah. The idea of us blowing them out, again, is insane. We'll still win, but it will probably be by 10 points, maybe 13." He didn't say that, but I bet it was floating around in his thoughts. He doesn't have to say it, he's just been doing it over and over. Which is all he cares about in the end. No lettermen jackets, no Patriots Worthy statements to the media, no Segways or Uggs boots for his OL. Get my drift?

Because Bill will take whatever he is given. He wants to win, and he's shown he can get that accomplished over a really long time. Not two seasons.

Nobody is tearing down anyone or anything except you and your dumbass claim that the Patriots never squeak out wins or get lucky. And when someone calls you out on it, you move the goalposts and throw in some dumb ass catch to your already idiotic claim.

I mean holy ****ing hell, do you seriously have no idea how lucky on TOP of being great they've been over the last 12 years? Go back and look at their games week by week since Tom Brady took over.

There have been plenty, PLENTY of instances where they've pulled wins out of their ****ing asses.

Now, why is it that Bill's team is always dominating teams for over a decade now? I mean, when has his team ever really squeaked out a win over its opponent. Without looking, I'd bet the team wins by a comfortable margin in majority of games and then sometimes blows opponents out.

Remember Wilfork's comments prior to the last game? All class. Heaping praise upon the Texans. Now Bill comes out and does the same thing. It's a well-known tactic that works on his own team and on others: Respect your opponent, do not instill a newfound anger in your opponent that doesn't need to be there, and make your own guys understand that anything can happen at any moment to change the outcome.

He's doing it right.

Good teams don't need to trash talk. Smart teams don't.

If we win the coin toss, it will be totally different from last game, not because winning the coin toss has anything to do with anything, but because they won the coin toss last time.

We score on our first possession, it will be a different game. We stop them on their first drive, it's a different game.

Again, all you're doing is finding ways to minimize the impact a good coach can have on a team...especially over a long duration AND in playoffs and Super Bowls.

Since "spygate" (which I doubt any of you really know anything about) the Pats have merely been to 2 Superbowls, won 5 division titles, 2 AFCCG's and had 6 double digit seasons, including one after Brady was lost in the first quarter of the opening game of the season.

Now, Tough guy, compare that "squat" to what the Texans...or any other NFL team has done over the same time span.

What BB understands, and what we all should understand is that in the NFL the 53rd man on your roster is a well trained fantastic athlete. He is the end result of a hard and viciously competitive marathon that goes on from OTA's to TC's, and continues even throughout the season. Those that remain not only deserve to be there, but are very good.

BB also understands that the beauty of football is that it is a game where it takes more than just great athletes to win. Its a game where its the best TEAM, not the best collection of athletes that generally wins. He understands that the game is played with an oblong spheroid that will bounce inconsistently and not always in your favor. He understands that the game is officiated by human beings who make mistakes, and those "mistakes" can greatly affect a game. He understands that the margin of victory in ANY NFL game is enormously slim, and just a few plays (as you saw in the last meeting) can turn a close game between 2 evenly matched teams, into a rout.

Its easy for fans and the mediots to say that one team is vastly better than another. They really DON'T understand that is almost as hard to beat a Jacksonville as it is to beat the Pats. BB understands that each individual game is completely different. That comparative scores are meaningless.

What happened in December will have NOTHING to do with what happens tomorrow. There will be some different players on the field. The offensive and defensive game plans will undoubtedly be different. There will be an entirely new set of Refs. The weather will be different, etc etc, etc

BB understands all that. Fortunately his team buys into it. Its part of the reason what the Pats have been so consistently good, even though the players are always changing.

Here's the one thing I DO know. If the Patriots do not play one of their best games of the year, and the Texans do.....they will lose.

If BB is a genius, then his genius in understanding how difficult it is to win a football game at that level, and then trying to do ALL the things necessary to give yourself a chance to accomplish that task.

I have to laugh again TK, Jet fans have made the same claim now for the last decade, but somehow it just doesn't happen. Why is that? LOL

BTW- I would agree that the best is yet to come for the Texans for the next few years. They have built a fine team over the last few years. But you will find it is easier to build a good team, but much harder to sustain it. Lets see where everyone is another decade from now.

Look at the games. They speak for themselves. Especially look at the games from 2001 to, say, 2004. Not just playoff games. All games. There have been an incredible amount of games they pulled out by what is considered disgustingly lucky. See the Oakland game, for starters.
