AND BTW Boston fans, errrrrr Foxborough Mass fans were the most arrogant, ignorant fans ever during Super Bowl XXXVIII (if that's right, I meant SB 38, here in Houston).......... Lost so much respect that I was a Carolina Panther fan that night.
LONG LIVE BSPN!!

And the Patriots seem to have an epidemic of "the problem."

No, Brady doesn't need any one target...but when wes was injured or successfully taken out of the game, Brady doesn't look nearly as sharp or comfortable. I guess the wes isn't great without Brady argument has some merit, but so does belichick isn't the same without Brady, Brady isnt as good without his system or oline, etc. Pointless argument imo..boils down to, right now, hes a matchup nightmare and top 5 wr. Btw, pats fans see these comments differently. If anyone cares to link this same thread from patsfans forum...comments range from "lol thats why wade defenses never beat Brady" to "that's the worst possible thing wade could have said". Imo wesll be good for 10 catches, 100 plus yds |

After the Dan Shaughnessy episode Texan fans and players believed his article would light a fire under Houston which would give them a competitive edge. Well, Philips may have just negated that advantage by claiming that Wes Welker, the leading receiver over the last two seasons, is "not that athletic" and doesn't require having the Texans best CB on him.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100...-on-wes-welker Now, a lot of what he says is true (much like a lot of what Shaughnessy said was true.) Welker is much better in the slot than on the outside and he isn't big. But claiming he isn't very athletic was a dumb thing to say. This has already circled around to Pats players. Not only will Welker be more motivated now, but so will Brady. Welker is a favorite target for Brady and their connection on the field is unreal. They are also great friends off the field. Thanks Wade! |

Nah, there's a better probability of Jackson knocking Welker out than for him to get 10 catches and a century

B) Bullshyte!!! If Patriots players are somehow circling the comments, than the Texans have half a chance. DUDE, be real... These cats don't give a damn about the rats ass with regards to comments taken way out of context, especially as reported by the northeast's gate guardian, BSPN.

Just saying with an average to below average QB welker wouldn't be half the player he is. AJ had 4 long years of David carr and was still one of the leagues best. That's something to be said. You think people will remember who threw AJ the ball ? Do you think people will remember who threw welker the ball ? Having a future HOF QB and coach def help, what has AJ had ? My point is without them with his skill set alone welker is not in the HOF, and even so he don't stand toe to toe with guys like AJ and CJ.

They all have elite qbs and great offensive systems, but wes's ##s blow theirs away. They also have more of the tangibles you associate w great wrs. If you rank him ahead of them...we're probably talkin top 5 |

Y'all have some yahoo in here saying crap like "tuning out outside influences is institutionalized in Foxboro" in one sentence, and then the very next sentence saying Arian Foster's tweets are bulletin board material for the Pats. He said both of these in the same post, mind you. Then you clowns are here trying to drum up some drama over what is a very benign statement by Wade Phillips. Completely un-controversial statement that Pats fans are now trying to whip into some frenzy that will propel their team to victory or some such nonsense. Listen, chowderheads, you are fans. Your imagined and/or manufactured indignation over a silly statement is not going to be the spark that ignites a revolution. Quit trying to mojo your team to victory. There is no controversy, so stop making asses out of yourselves by trying to create one. Oh, and Sam Adams beer sucks. That's a true, yet sad statement. I am a beer lover, and I really want to like Sam Adams beer, but I've tried virtually every one of them, and they all suck.

I didn't think that the Patriots would be motivated by being two games away from the Superbowl, but I'm sure they are now. Thanks a lot, Wade.
This is the second awesome thread started by Pats fans. I can tell it's a college town. |

You guys should read the whole interview, instead of the highlights that some media person wanted to use to stir things up.
Wade never said Welker was not a good receiver, he was answering a question about covering Welker.

Welker had three catches for 56 yards, 3 catches on 11 targets. Sure, a lot of drops, but I like Kjax & Harris on Welker. They're more physical. Neither has the speed to keep up with Lloyd, nor the ups. Jjo will do a fine job on him. I'd be more worried about Stalworth, if he's still got his speed, we'll have to beat him with scheme.

![]() I'm pretty sure Wade understands that Welker tore his d up before and would be happy to do it again.
