Chapel Hill – One of the biggest offseason wins for UNC was defensive tackle Sylvester Williams deciding to return for his final season of eligibility instead of declaring for the NFL Draft.


Williams would have likely been one of the top defensive tackles taken had he opted for the NFL Draft
“When you’re in that position you always have to think of the pros and cons,” the 6-3, 320-pounder said. “I weighed everything out with my family, and it was never my intent to leave, but we all decided that it was my best decision to come back and see what coach (Larry) Fedora and coach (Deke) Adams had to bring."

This sucks, DT continues to get thinner by the day. I sure hope we can get Short or Jesse Williams.

So many returning to school and NFL need remaining same, I expect other players will be pushed up the boards. This is where our scouts and GM earn their money by making good evals of who remains.

Both Walterfootball and CBS show Sylvester to be a senior this year.

I have to apologize. I heard on tv he had decided to return. All my info had him as a senior but When I did a search that article appeared. I completely missed that date. I try to verify date of info but this one is on me. Thanks for correction. Williams is high on my board for NTs. Here is a mock for 2013 at #29 by SB Nation
