Greg Knapp was given a lot of credit for working with Yates last year. Kubs could bring him back.

Gary Kubiak should call Greg Knapp
The Houston Texans have a quarterbacks coach in Karl Dorrell. That shouldn’t stop Gary Kubiak from placing a call today to Greg Knapp, who held the post in 2012. It wouldn’t be admitting some sort of defeat to bring in a guy just fired as Oakland’s offensive coordinator. Kubiak shouldn’t regard it as some sort of concession or admission of failure. He should see it as a chance to bring in a guy who might be a quarterback whisperer right when Matt Schaub could really use one. Schaub probably loves and respects Dorrell. But he and all the team’s quarterbacks were wild about Knapp. Last year Bill Belichick pounced on a chance to take back Josh McDaniels when he was available because he’d been dismissed as coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. Here’s an opportunity for Kubiak to make a similar move. Hire Knapp back with some nebulous title. What’s Kubiak got to lose? I mean except Saturday’s first-round playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals? http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/pos...uld-call-knapp |

I'm all for anything that helps this team. Don't know if this would help or not, but I'm not seeing where it would hurt anything.

I was thinking about doing something besides elevating Joe to early retirement, but was leaning more towards bringing in a new WR coach to help our young receivers develop more quickly. Texans just cannot afford the time its been taking to bring guys up to speed, Schaub needs their help as well.

Well, there it is.
Kubiak has lucked into a nice little "Salvage" deal he can strike, something that he can point to and say "Well, gosh...ya' know, Greggie was such a vital component here. Darn sure hated to lose him, and now we got him back. He's one of the reasons we were so good in 2011...." This is his salvation. He's got a potential hire that he can use to show he's got this handled. That we just needed better QB coaching, that's all. This guy will never abandon Matt Schaub. Ever. He'll slip the guy steroids if he has to, he just gots to have his boy there at QB. And if he were to hire him back, Kubiak would then have the Magic Man, Greg Knapp, to do his voodoo and get Matt to where Kubiak wants him to be. LOL.

Interesting.
Knapp as Peyton's QB coach is like him going off to get his PhD in O. I wonder if they'll try to integrate any ZBS into Peyton's game plan? |

Canning the Broncos DB coach was about as unexpected as snow falling on the Colorado rockies this winter. That pass to Jacoby that resulted in tieing the game up in the last minute of play was about the most catastropic breakdown of a prevent-pass defense as we are ever gonna witness in an NFL game.
