Quite frankly, NE should have lost to the Ravens last AFCC. Lee Evans dropped a TD in the end zone and then the Ravens kicker missed a chip shot FG. HFA amounted to squat the way the Ravens were moving the ball up and down the field.

I agree with what you're saying. HFA doesn't always get it. However, it is nice knowing that you have the inside track to hosting the Conference Championship game. Had last years Championship game been played at Baltimore, it wouldn't surprise me if Baltimore won. Home Field advantage can go a very long way in that last game.

& whether there is or not, I'm going to love hosting the AFC Championship Game in Houston Texas (God willing).

Only thing I can predict about this game is that the refs will bring out their extra soft yellow woobies to wrap Brady in when he gets hit or brushed up against.

Seriously though, I am concerned that the flags will fly if Brady gets touched. Which is ok if they extend the same courtesy to Schaub, which is doubtful.

Not necessarily. If the Pats win out (including beating the Texans) they will be 13-3. If we lose to them, only winning two of the last three does no good because we'll both be 13-3 and they will own the 1st tie breaker. If the Pats win out over their last four games, we have to take the last three to get HFA.

It was. Not sure why you thought any mod would have a problem with it.

As a somewhat topical aside, the 36th Infantry Division (Army not Marines as in the picture) aka "Texas Division" has had multiple deployments in Afghanistan and Iraq. I am sure a bunch of them are cheering on the Texans as well.

Not only that, your guy Moore could have been called for PI near your own end zone in the closing minute there.

That would have given the Ravens a first down at the 2.

This is how I think it will go, the Texans will win Monday because NE is due for a loss at home in December. And, this game means the world to the Texans. They win this and theyre officially on the map. Up till now its all been hype.

Then, the AFCC will be in Houston and NE will win. Why? Because everything that worked for the Texans on MNF will be on film and wont be as successful in round 2. NE will have answers. Also, NE wont be favored to win.

Does it work both ways for you? What if the Pats win on Monday? Will that mean that the Texans will win in the playoffs since we will have them on film and have answers in addition to not being favored?

I'm with you in a sense on HFA... I don't think it's meaningless but more so believe that it is any given Sunday for everybody... especially in the playoffs. It's for all the marbles. That being said... I'd love to have homefield just because I will be able to go.

If the game had been in Baltimore, it wouldn't have mattered if Evans dropped the pass or Cundiff missed the FG (which for the record, he was 28 of 37 on FG's in the regular season) because the first 59 minutes and 30 seconds would have gone completely different, and the Ravens probably would have been ahead by two TD's at that point anyway.

I think as fans, we (especially here in Houston) think way too much about being on the map. That's what this game mean to us, the fans. I don't think being on "the map" means that much to the Houston Texans. As far as they are concerned, they are already on the map. They've been getting everyone's best game this season because they are on the map.

To the team, I think this is the game they get to test their metal against a "better" team. I think they believe they failed miserably against Greenbay & haven't had a true test since.

They thought they would get that opportunity against the Ravens, but after that game, it was obvious the Ravens weren't in the same league. Same thing against the Bears. It's not about being on the map, it's about going head to head with the best.

We would have to drum the Patriots for them not to be favored in the AFC Championship game if both teams were to make it that far. We'll still be seen as "inexperienced." Even if the Texans win Monday night, no one is going to be fooled into thinking the Texans are hands down the better team. Better Monday night maybe. Arizona, Seattle, not even a healthy Baltimore is thought to be a better team than New England, despite beating them earlier in the year.

And just like Bellichick would have a different game plan for the rematch, even if he won the first match-up, Kubiak & Wade will give the Pats a fresh look in the rematch.

Kubiak had seen Belichick's teams some 9 times over the year.

Wade had seen them at least 6 times.

And there are plenty of film out there for all to see.
