Per NFL.com, J.J. Watt now has 14.5. He has replaced Mario in the Texans' record books. And that's not counting the one they took off the books in the Miami game.

Yuppers. Updated it in a few posts above. I never felt Mario gave enough effort. Last big thing Mario has in the books is career sacks.

I think most points scored in a season is a done deal.

We only need to average slightly more than 12 per game to get there.

I will not be happy if we don't have a play-off bye.

Agreed on both. The bye thing would be terrible. I'd rather not even think about it. heh

I found anotherrecord that could be reached:
Most Sacks by a Rookie: 6, Brooks Reed 2011
Whitney Mercilus has 5 sacks with 4 games left.

Unfortunately Profootball-reference.com is down. Didn't Connor Barwin's 4-sack game against J-ville end up being like 6 or 7 sacks total for the Texans?

edit: it was 7

I knew I forgot about one. This reminded me. Thanks cak. =)

Most turnovers in a game. The previous record was 5. That happened 5 times.
We had 6 vs Titans, 12/2/12

3 interceptions & 3 fumble recoveries.

From the Texans website:

Quote:
Established a season high with 6.0 sacks in the game. Houston’s defense registered 4.0 sacks vs. Tennessee (9/30), in Week 7 vs. Baltimore (10/21) and in Week 9 vs. Buffalo (11/4). The 6.0 sacks were tied for the second-most in team history and were the most since Houston tied a franchise record with 7.0 at Jacksonville on 11/27/11.
