I think the Texans take the approach that if they can get comfortable that the problems/character flaws exhibited in the past won't pose a problem down the road, they're willing to sign the player, but they've got to be at that point before they bring someone in. You can argue with the execution of that line of thinking all day, but it's tough to argue with the underlying premise. Also, I think there's a component of the "every time someone you've heard of gets cut - someone starts clamoring for the Texans to sign him" syndrome. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and sometime the Texans don't sign someone because they simply believe he doesn't offer much. Edit: all that said, I'm guessing there aren't too many fans of the LT led World Champion New York Giants who feel that those Super Bowl trophies are tarnished one bit by any of his off the field actions.

This is by far the most bizarre inflammatory statement I've ever heard from Schaub. And it wasn't even that bad. It's just so weird hearing it from Schaub.
Schaub has got to be the most ridiculously professional/composed QB I've ever seen. The guy NEVER loses his head,no matter what. He's like a walking talking press release. I'm really thankful that it's guys like Schaub and Andre who the young Texans have to look up to.

I'd rather have the Texans Way even if we never get a Super Bowl. The team is a natural extension of my personality, otherwise I wouldn't be rooting for them. Interesting how personalities of people and the teams they root for end up resembling one another over the years.
There is no joy in celebrating a Super Bowl win if the team you root for is filled with pieces of ****. At least for me. |

Well, I am pretty sure we're going to be scheduled to play the Lions again next year after all the fireworks over this issue.
1. Thanksgiving Day game that went into OT (i.e. Not The Typical Blowout) 2. "The Kick Heard 'Round The World" by Suh. 3. Forsett's TD that wasn't a TD but remained a TD 4. Schaub's comments to the media the week after 5. And now the Lions' d-coord trying to discredit Schaub AND the Texans Yeah, I'd say the networks will be prodding the league office to book Texans-Lions next year. I think a MNF game or SNF or Thursday Night game. Something they can really use to talk up the rematch.

It won't matter, they're on a 4 yr rotation.

I don't want anyone who through on/off field behavior jeopardizes being on the field when they're really needed. Plugging holes created by injury is hard enough without adding stupidity to the mix.
