yes sir, it takes more than one guy, but it also helps a lot that the guy at the POA wins big.

I've never been one to complain about our draft picks during draft time. I actually liked the DB, Watt, Barwin, D-Ryans, etc picks. However, I liked the Travis Johnson, Harris and Slaton picks too....so what the heck do I know

Actually, I think Slatom was a good pick in the third; I was only begging the coaches not to run him inside as much. We were running too much inside zone and it was not Slaton's strongest suit. Always said he's a poor man Reggie Bush.
More stretch run like we've been doing the last few years would have saved some of the concussions he took.

We weren't very good at the stretch run then.

Travis was before my time of studying game tapes; I only asked people to forget about his draft status. I saw him as an effective guy in a rotation; never thought of him as a legit starter.

Brandon Harris, just like Caldwell, my take was that he won't replace Jackson just as Caldwell won't replace Myers; I even said that Caldwell had a long way to go to replace Brisiel (in his second year). During that PS, some posters asked for my take and that was what I said (quite a few people still had high hope for him at the time.)

Caldwell is a pretty good player; I never sold him short. I just thought that both Myers and Brisiel were quite better at the time.

A healthy Caldwell is quite better than the rookie Ben Jones.
Problem is Caldwell has seen a lot of down time.
As an O-lineman, you can't afford much down time.
The chemistry, especially in the ZBS, doesn't tolerate that.

Yep. Reminds me of the times when I said Vince Young was our future, Schaub wasn't worth one 2nd round pick let alone two, and that Kubiak would never get the Texans past a 500 season.

I'm pretty damn good at player/coach evaluations myself.
