Question for all the Kubiak Haters. What would you consider failure over the next 5 weeks? 3-2? 2-3?
Or simply not getting homefield throughout? Question for all the Kubiak Lovers. What would you consider victory? 3-2? 2-3? Or simply ensuring a first round bye?

If Sam Houston gets back to the National Championship, the game will be played on the same weekend as Wild Card weekend. I didn't get to go to the NC game last year, because the Texans played, but if they have the bye week, it would be nice! Also, Bye weeks are always great. #1 seed would be awesome.

Before the season, I guess-timated between 12-4 to 14-2 depending on health issues.
With the number of injuries we've been sustaining, 12-4 would still be more than meeting expectation. So even if we go 2-3, it's cool with me. I will be happy with any gravy; let's face it, how many of us expected the Texans to get the #1 seed when the season started? |

I think we go 5-0, or 4-1 over the home stretch.
Cody's coming back, and he'll be huge for our run defense. Tate coming back to pair with Foster allows us to control the clock the way we did to start the season. Forsett has been ok, but Foster/Tate wears a defense out over the game. There's nothing to fear here. Mercilus getting more reps, and Watt being consistently double-teamed is gonna obliterate (too strong of a word here?) pass protection. The coaches intentionally limited Whitney's reps over the season to prevent the "rookie wall" syndrome. He'll be at his best when the games count most.

I'm thinking 13-3.
I think we take the Titans to go 11-1, then Brady cuts us to pieces to go 11-2, barely beat Indy at home to 12-2, beat Minnesota 13-2, then lose in the final game to Indy, 13-3. |

Minnesota and Tennessee should be gimmies, both of the Colts games be a split, and I think NE might be out of reach with all of our injuries to the defense. At this point in the season I think that if we make the #2 seed and still get a bye it might be worth it if it helps certain players rest on the defense.

It wouldn't surprise me a bit to see the Texans lose to the Titans then turn around and beat New England on Monday night. I'm also thinking 13-3 for the final record.

At this point, no matter what the other AFC teams do, if the Texans win 2 of their last 3, they get the division and a bye week. They might have to play the AFCC game in New England though if New England wins out.
I'm positive, totally positive, the Texans can take 2 of their last 3 games. If San Fran can somehow upset New England this weekend, which I don't think will happen, the Texans could have total home field in the playoffs with 2 of their last 3. They need all 3 of these last 3 though. Which I do think they can pull off. And 14-2 makes us king of the playoff hill.
