I think Schaub should have stayed with the origional "NC" approach. Not that I disagree with him because I know what he says is true, but because the NFL is basically a small community and his remarks may come back to haunt him.

This is coming from a guy that works at the texans facility and rides on the team plane with these guys.

I listen to Matt every Monday and he is the king of coach speak for the most part.

For him to say he doesn't want a guy as a teammate is pretty strong. For him to say that a guy is not "texans worthy" is even stronger.
That's not accurate. I listened to it live on my way to work. They asked him would he like Suh as a teammate and his initial reply was one word: "No."

Schaub only added all that other stuff when Vandermeer asked him to expound. Vandy couldn't let it go at a simple "No".

Well, Vandy realized he asked a close-ended question (a question that can have a Yes or No answer with no further details)....so in his error I think Vandy quickly recovered and asked him to explain why he said "No" to the question.

No harm in that. I think you're making more of it than what's there. That's my gig, so stop trying to copy me. I think we all wanted to hear Matt Schaub explain his feelings, even if it was a bit of a tangent question to begin with.

I personally liked hearing him say negative things about Suh. I mean, Suh is trying to straight up injure every QB he faces no matter what...so it's not like this awakened some sleeping giant in Suh or anything. Matt is making sure he's on record as being very anti-Suh.

He downplayed the two hits he received in the Broncos game. But with Suh, there's that Albert Haynesworth factor that I am sure just really irritates Schaub. So he got to vent a little, and that's fine. At least he vented now and not during the game, in the moment. Which, from the quotes I read, Matt said he intentionally moved on from that incident for the benefit of the team. Now that there's down time, I think it's more than OK for this to be discussed.

Did you hear the conversation before Schaub came on?

They were talking among themselves about whether they'd take Suh on their teams...

It was just a conversation, not some sinister plot to stir up drama. Of course they want interesting dialogue...That's their job

Suh is universally hated around the league and has been voted the most disliked player by his peers for 2 straight years.

Uncontrollable he is.
Side-swiping cars; hitting a tree, and driving 91 mph in a 55mph zone.
You'd figure a guy would be more careful after receiving 3 traffic tickets within a year, but no, here he goes again.

Drew Sharp: Lions should consider trading Ndamukong Suh -- Detroit Free Press

Quote:
If the Lions are smart -- and isn't that assuming a lot? -- they should seriously entertain trading offers for Suh this off-season. He may never shake free from the branding as a needlessly angry, impulsive reactionary who may annually face some form of NFL investigation for his on-field antics.

That's not worth it for the Lions, especially considering how much they invested in their top three draft picks when they were historically bad. They've already made Calvin Johnson the highest paid non-quarterback in NFL history. They might only have room to keep either quarterback Matthew Stafford or Suh following next season. Whom do you think they're going to choose?
...
[Suh] is also annoyingly arrogant and capricious. Suh still believes that the NFL must change to how he plays because the league's never before experienced his combination of size and speed.
...
I do believe Suh deliberately and angrily initiated a clearly non-football act, justifying in his mind that wherever his cleats met Schaub, so be it.

It's quite unfortunate too. This dude could be one of the most dominant Dlinemen in the NFL if he wanted. Honestly, I used to enjoy the heck out of the way he played the game up until the "stomp". One of the dirtiest and deliberate things I've ever seen in a game. To make things worse, he denied doing it.

Hopefully he can get some help and get his mind right. Otherwise, he can disappear from the NFL for all I care.

I don't have a problem with what Schaub said. I liked Suh when he came ou tof college but his actions in the NFL are despicable.

Suh has some serious entitlement issues. He thinks the NFL needs to bend its rules for him. He thinks he should get special treatment in the real world.

4 traffic violations in one year would get you & me a suspended license. Attempting to intimidate a witness would seal the deal.

I bet it's been that way since his playing days in high school, college, and now the NFL. Unfortunately he is a mental midget and his thought process seems to not have progressed past the age of 17.

The correlation between his traffic issues and on the field actions is not a coincidence. On top of that he is a crappy driver that probably thinks he is a pro driver.

Just to clarify, It looks like he was issued one traffic ticket, while one is pending.

He was not ticketed in the "minor" accident in Detroit.
He was not ticketed in Portland, but is being sued by a witness who was in his car during the accident.
He didn't hit any car, just a light pole, a drinking fountain, and a tree - probably by gunning his car too quickly from a start and just lost control of his car.
In the 911 call, Suh claimed that everybody is fine.
But one passenger claimed that she was injured and sued him.
The other passenger seems to support that claim.
No details on the amended police report yet, and I believe the case is still pending.

The only problem I have with Schaub's comments is the potential for "Texans Worthy" to become some sort of battle cry for the other team. The Texans are 10-1 and every opponent is gunning for us already, they don't need more incentive.

I will say that Schaub's comments are essentially correct. The Texans don't hire people who are unstable or glory hounds in any way, shape, form or fashion. Let's face it, drama sells newspapers and we don't get very much press because we don't have drama queens like Tony Romo, Michael Vick or Richie Incognito. While I think Suh has the potential to be a major force in the NFL, he doesn't fit the mold of a Texans player.

This is exactly what's going to happen. Detoilet will get tired of Suh and the controversy he brings so they'll trade him and he'll either go to some well meaning organization that thinks they can channel his anger and fix him or to someone like Bud Adams who wants his team to "toughen up". Hell, he'll probably bring Jim Schwartz back when he's fired too.

I think if Schaub was a clown himself, yeah...the Texans Worthy would be seen as dooshie and would be used for another team's gain.

The dude is so low-key, so hip to the ways of being a standup person...I mean, he's the antidote to drama...that I think people are golf clapping his statement all over the league. Well, maybe not in Detroit they're not. But still.
