This was simply too good not to share. We've all been there & done that. Now the shoe is on a different foot, doesn't it seem oddly familiar? I really feel for Detroit fan base but not Jim Schwartz. He is clearly a coordinator not a Head Coach (we had one of those in Capers). Thoughts welcome - http://www.detroitlionsdraft.com/201...asco/#more-116

I thought this was going to be a long rant of how the Lions got screwed and should have won, but he gave the Texans props.

Geez, to read that there was all kinds of cheating going on on behalf of the Texans ...... and no mention of crotch-kick, horse-collar, late-hit Suh.
![]() Yes, we were wrongly awarded that TD -- that rule sucks. But we would have finished the drive and scored anyway. And we would have won, or Detroit would have lost the game anyway. It's how their season is going. It's how our season is going. These Texans don't like to lose.

Not to mention two blatant PI's that were not called.

He also didn't mention Lions #66 repeatedly making late hits against our Mr. Watt.

Why blame the officials who were only enforcing the rule as it stands? And as the writer points out the Lions had plenty of chances to make that call a side note to a Lions victory...

I don't know. I think he is the anti-Kubiak. When people talk about the things they hate about Kubiak, about what they want in a HC, I see Jim Schwartz.

There was another one, where Matt was backpedaling & threw the ball in the vicinity of Forsett. The ball had already hit the ground, play over. But #98 grabs Forsett & slings him to the ground. It was way late. The ball hit the ground before #98 grabbed Forsett. We were lucky to get out of there with the few injuries we had.

Going back to 2002-2003 I viewed Texan with Lion franchise an equal comparable. Carr & Harrington, both busts, but Detroit went back to back busts instead selecting Charles Rogers with the 2nd overall pick leaving Andre Johnson to Texans #3 overall.
Then both coaching & GM changes. Schwartz a defensive coach, Gary the offensive QB guru. McNair has been vindicated with his patience, don't know if Fords will do the same? This call as bad as it was on the field was intensified off by the man who was supposed to be in charge, simply could not control his emotions, or his players on the field emotions, hence his team lost control, ultimately the game, probably the war as franchises once again diverge in opposite directions.

I bet if you go to their board, you'll find their fans complaining of many other "bad calls" If their players saw those the same way & let them fester in their minds...... that's why they lost the game. We identified many "no calls" that should have agitated our players, but we didn't see Antonio go off like he's been known to. We didn't see Jj Watt retaliate like he should have. & we didn't see Schaub, Andre, or Arian give up.

i love how every one says he was CLEARLY down, but only after watching 3 different angles and slowmo replay 8 times.. as the play happened walter passed in front of the tv view of justin and all i could see was forsett making an effort to stay on his feet. i didnt CLEARLY see forsetts elbow or knee down on my giant hdtv.. it wasnt until the replay that i could CLEARLY see him downed... even still refs miss calls, and they were stripped of the opportunity to correct the call. lions fans need to look at them selves before making excuses about refs deciding this game.. this doesnt give the writer of that article any right just to assume the final score had the td been called back..

Lion tears are getting old fast. I understand that they had a bad call screw with their game. It happens to everyone over the course of a season. They all seem to think that the bad call and the bad rule (lets all downplay the stupid head coach) stole a win from them. That's getting old. The score tied the game but they had plenty of chances to win it after that. They didn't.
I'm done with them. Bunch of stupid crybabies. They deserve the team they've been and the record it's sporting. Screw them, we won that game fair and square because their coaches are stupid and their team can't handle adversity. The End.

Agreed. There's no question he was down. I can understand if Forsett didn't feel like his knee hit. There's a pad covering his knee and he clearly brushed the ground, didn't hit it. Doesn't change that the officials have to see that and call it but we all know he was down. Detoilet fans act like this bad call cost them the game though and I'm getting sick of hearing that.

It's conceivable that we still score a TD on that drive. So for me, the naysayers are all crazy. Had the refs called a better game, specifically the endless holding and hands to the face by the Detriot OL all game long, the cheap shots by the Detroit defense, then the game might favor us even more. The comments in the ESPN article show solid support for Houston on this issue. The vast majority dislike Schwartz, severely dislike Suh, so they are getting few sympathy votes on it.
