I used to work as a steward at the soccer over here when I couldn't afford to pay to watch the game myself, on one training course we got told about an incident at another ground where a guy had been refused entry for being drunk but unfortunately it turned out to be that he was having a diabetic attack and he died just outside the gate a few minutes later.

I wonder if something like this has happened here, it can make you seem paraletic due to not walking straight and slurring words etc.

Of course that is pure speculation, but it is worth people knowing about in case you come across it in the future.

A few years back, at Reliant, I had a "nightmare" experience with a relative that got to drunk. THey would not kick him out without someone going with him. Either that, or they were sending him to jail. As it turned out, he was so drunk they sent him to the clinic to be evaluated first, where we stayed until he was sober enough to walk out. Bottom line! He was NOT going anywhere, other than jail, without someone with him!! That's the way it should be. JMO!

If I could rep this post twice, I would. Absolutely! Too many people are jaded and feel that intoxicated people deserve the worst. For example, the guy who slid and fell off the railing.

Glad to see there are folks who have some humanity like you.

Maybe not the worst Nitro but some clown with a history of over drinking gets little sympathy from me. They are usually not the one getting hurt or dying due to their stupidity. I think there has been too much societal excuse for people who will not be safe drinkers. I am addressing only alcohol abusers and did not read the link.

Some people have a legitimate medical condition called alcoholism and they can not help themselves. I take it you have no family member who have suffered through this or through drug addiction just to give a blanket statement like this.

Not only that but a much larger number than one realizes (I have no data to back this up)... are really people who don't generally drink. They don't handle their firewater as well.

Anybody with a history of over drinking should be escorted out with someone sober. That drunk individual is a danger to others. What if he/she decides to drive? The potential consequences are deadly.

Bars aren't held responsible for refusing to serve people. They are held responsible for serving obvious drunks. At least in Texas.

Being drunk and stupid (in and of itself) shouldn't be grounds for the death penalty. The stadium security folks were morons for letting a drunk guy leave on his own -- you keep him where you can watch him sober up, you release him to a sober friend or relative. Lawyers are going to have a field day with this one.
