Overall fan response not what I expected

Yeah, too many people bail half way through the 4th quarter. I remember the Falcons game last year a few in my section cleared out. And you're not gonna find a better down the stretch game than that.

A lot of folks had their heart ripped out when the Oilers left Houston. Maybe these folks have never recovered the way WE have?

For many people, they might have chosen other teams OR might have just give up on it altogether. Plus, with social media and smart phones we're not talking on elevators with people anymore...we're typing things onto a phone and interacting digitally now.

Those things might factor into the lack of buzz. If I want to chat it up about Texans football, I'm doing that here and not with random dude on elevator.

GP I think your post has much to do with it. I still strike up conversation with random folks wearing and NFl gear & lead into Texans but probably many do not do that.

I have stronger since of urgency/trepidation with Cody out now and OD probably reduced to just a few plays if that.

I'll feel a lot better about this season if we win in Chicago. But we need to beat Chicago and/or NE for me to really good about this team heading into the playoffs.

because the texans were suppose to be this great team but when they play prime time games they can barely beat the jets, get crushed by green bay, and barely beat jason campbell.

those games were suppose to showcase our great team but the texans underwhelmed and underperformed.

Cant blame the fans and media for their reluctant approach.

All that matters for the texans are playoff wins.

Pretty cool...not as monolithic for Dallas as you have been led to believe.

I get more response now than I have in the past when I wear Texans' gear. They play Texans games now here in Dallas almost every week.

But we don't get a lot of media attention because we're not a story. We've got the quietest WRs in the league. We've got one of the calmest QBs in the league. Even most of our defensive players aren't THAT in your face. Our guys aren't going out and shooting people or getting busted or hitting their girlfriends or anything. Our coaching staff could give classes in not giving the other team bulletin board material, always being respectful of the talent of the players on the other team no matter their record.

So most people don't identify with our players. They don't get a chance to learn who our guys are.

BUT.

We had to take a connection through Cincinnati. As I was walking onto the plane, the stewardess pointed at my shirt and said, "You guys are 8-1!" Which was a surprise. Later on, she came by and talked to us. She'd been watching the game in Mexico. When she found out we'd been at the game her response was... "Shut up!" It was kinda cool.

Agreed. I see more people wearing the gear, car flags, etc. than ever before.

As for people leaving the stadium early, I never do, but it happens everywhere. There were a lot of empty seats at the end of the Steelers game Monday night.
