Our offense takes away the running game. Not the defense. Killing the clock with TOP & putting points on the board is the only way we've gotten teams to abandon the run, we haven't shut down anybody's run game.

Ray Rice has probably been the most prolific coming out of the back field in a long time & Dobbins/Barwin handled him pretty well.

When you have Jonathan Joseph on your team you don't double cover anybody on every play.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- The Chicago Bears practiced Thursday without rookie receiver Alshon Jeffery, along with defensive tackle and Matt Toeaina (calf), and linebacker Brian Urlacher, who received the customary veteran's day off.

Jeffery is the only player of the group not expected to play Sunday when the Bears host the Houston Texans at Soldier Field, but the receiver hasn't been declared out officially.

"Alshon Jeffery is getting better," Bears coach Lovie Smith said. "He's not quite there yet."

Although there's a chance -- which looks slimmer by the day -- that Jeffery could return this week according to sources, the Bears plan to hold out the receiver against the Texans to minimize the risk of re-injury to his broken right hand, before bringing him back for a Nov. 19 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

With the way each player has played, I think it's safe to double. Joseph has been nursing an injury (though he did look better in the last game) and Marshall has been playing great over the last 3 or 4.

He has already been sacked 28 times with 207 yards for loss, which is on track to top his worst year in 2010 when he was sacked 52 times. He has thrown 8 interceptions and fumbled 4 times this year. Schaub has been sacked 10 times, has thrown 4 interceptions and lost 1 fumble. The Texans have gone 5 out of 8 games without a turnover. Advantage Texans.
