to a comment earlier in this post, the reason why drob plays their second receiver is because the coaches want him on the strong side of the formation in the slot primarily so they can stop the run, if theyre linebackers where any good and could stop a running then they would consider moving drob to the outside to one of the strong receivers like a harrison or a johnson....

This is why DRob frequently lines up against their second WRs. Our coaches have our CBs play a particular side rather than matching up against a particular man, and opposing teams are obviously going to stick their best receivers on the side the Buchanon/Faggins are on. As a few people have also posted, when we run zones all day we will get passed on. DRob isn't great in zone coverage, although no one really is when you're zoning people like Peyton Manning. I don't agree that Buchanon is better in man coverage though. He backs way too far off his man all the time, and in college and with the Raiders he played predominantly zone defense so that's what he's used to playing.

Did anyone see the hit that Asante Samuels (sp?) from the Pats put on Ricky Williams yesterday??? Id hate to say it, but it was a nastier hit than the Drob hit. Both hits where very nice but Samuels went head up with Ricky and just laid him out.

Im going to have to take another look at it. My gut says Ricky tried to spin out of it, and 1/2 slipped, 1/2 got hit by a football player.

I just dont think Asante could go head up with Ricky if he was really going at him.

Its not like Dunta's hit. Dunta got him before his head could come around and find him. So im not saying Dunta went head up with Wayne.

My money is on Ricky trying to make a move, not run Samuels over.

Having 9 tackles is good, but it also might note that he gave up a lot of catches and ended up with a lot of tackles. I noticed the zone problem. A lot of times Drob will be deeper, and an OLB or nickel back plays inside. The ball is thrown in between, and DRob gets the tackle. Not working well.

Found this on google Though you might get a kick out of it.

Prospect Profiles

Dunta Robinson

Negatives: Willing tackler in run support, but needs to slip past blocks, as he lacks the size to face up to the larger linemen in pursuit near the line Shows explosion in his backpedal, but shuffles his feet (compensates with good hip sink and balance) Late to locate the ball, at times, but when he does, he shows no hesitation closing Reliable tackler, but needs to deliver more power behind his hits (more wrap-up than smash-mouth type).

I like to compare Pburnt and Drob. I remember early in the first quarter Pburnt letting his receiver run through him. Of course, we've all been talking about what Drob did. That's what I like about Drob. He is one of the few bright spots on this team.

Does any CB int he league have the size to match up with linemen? Aside from the tackling comment this seemed ridiculous too. Where did you find this scouting report?

Just another reason why you can't totally rely on internet 'scouting'. I find it hard to come to conclusions on many of the prospects because of the quality of the man in front of them varies to a great degree from school to school....you must see a prospect multiple times and in front of at least a couple of guys who grade out reasonably high to form good opinions imo.

Robinson got taken to school yesterday by Manning and Harrison. Was it the scheme or has Robinson been exposed? We won't know until a new coaching staff is in place.

If you watch the Ricky hit, you will see that Ricky lowers his shoulders but Samuels simply goes lower and takes him out.

D-Rob is the best DB we have by far and he was lined up on marvin harrison at times in the past game. If you think D-Rob sucks then you are sick. He can ball and tackles better than some of the linebackers on the team.
