What everyone has failed to point out is the relationship Wade has with Bum. They are very close, and I think that wade knows he is very limited on the amount of time remaining to spend with his dad. He has it made here, and gets to spend time with his dad. He will stay!

Unfortunately to many fans care about all of the periphreal stuff and the Texans org felt no pressure to put the best product possible on the field for a DECADE. However they did make alot of $$$$. When the fans started turning on the franchise/Gary, BoB magically found the $$$$ to sign Wade to a big contract and bring in Manning and Joseph on huge deals as well. All of the sudden the Texans went from also rans to SB contenders. Funny how that works. What are the reasons you love this team? Are they your moral compass? It's just entertainment. A winning team is much more entertaining to me and I personally dont care what Coaches/players do in their PRIVATE lives. As long as they win on Sundays. Speaking of this model organization, Do you think it's right that they allowed D.Davis to play on a bad knee, destroying his career? How about last yr when they cut AJ's hamstring loose so the could get him back on the field, probably costing him a spot in the HOF? Manning playing with a bone bruise that C-N-D said had a good chance of breaking if he was allowed to play and that's exactly what happened? (Dont mean to speak for you C-N-D.) See the thing is the Texans aren't a lily white org. They just do a better job of hiding their skeletons than most teams. |

We have our secrets just like every other team. We just hide them better, and get labeled a "classy" franchise. |

I don't agree with the idea that Bob had no real desire to field a winning franchise and only ponied up the money for a name DC when the fans started to turn on the team and that threatened his revenue source. I think he's always tried to field a winning team and I don't think he's ever been cheap about it. I think, for the most part, he's hired people who were supposed to know what they were doing and then got out of the way and let them do it.
I think he's put down the ground rules, though. He wants a team built along the Steeler's template and that includes building primarily through the draft and being extremely patient with coaches. I believe he's put some stipulations in place that he wants a team composed of "high class" players but I don't think that means he'll say no to someone who has some history. He just doesn't want to become the Bengals -- going after high-talent, low-class guys who have high up-side but are also risky -- and he doesn't want to become the Redskins -- spending tons of cash on whatever high-priced free-agent is out there.

Do NOT want the circus he'd bring to town. Rivera - maybe Decent-to-good track record as a coordinator, jury still out on the HC thing; not sure he wouldn't be sniffing after Kubiak's job Crennel - yes he's one of those "best-used-as-coordinator/not-to-be-a-head coach" guys IMHO. |
