will have 80% of the country's attention as we are part of CBS's "A Game"
this week. We even get Phil Simms and Jim Nance as the broadcast team.

The Texans are winless in such instances, so hopefully, we see another

It doesn't have crap to do with any amount of "respect". It has to do with ESPN's horrible production and bias. Houston has already earned the respect, they're one of the best teams in the league and have been for well over a entire season. They have premier playmakers on both sides of the ball. I mean are you really going to tell me Tebow/the Jets or the freaking train wreck Cowboys have earned more "respect". And it's not just Houston, there's other teams that should be getting more air time, but get passed over by "ETSN" (Entertainment Tebow Sports Network)

ESPN is just a horribly produced sports channel, but there's really no other channel to challenge them so it is what it is.

They make good commercials though. As for competing stations, it'll be a few years, but once NBC Sports Network bids on some tv contracts, ESPN will have real competition.

At the moment the texans are tied with the new Cleveland browns in terms of playoff appearances in the league. 1 year does not earn respect, it's done over a longtime of continued excellence and/ or a large fan base. As much as we don't like To think of it, the Texans are largely irrelevant outside of Texas. More sustained winning will grow the brand and elicit respect.

The cowboys have the third most amount of Super Bowl trophies in the league and have one of the biggest if not biggest fan bases in the league. More recently they have had jerruh's head scratching comments. Espn will cater to what people want to talk about. See the jets: jets have been a team of one liners with Rex. I don't know that it is necessarily ESPN's bias as much as it is the nation's bias. Houston is a smaller sports market because our fans are essentially limited to the Houston area and surrounding. Catering to Cowpoke fans just makes business sense since they are more popular. That said, I haven't watched ESPN for a non-sporting event in years because I'm tired of waiting for 30 seconds of coverage for my team(s).

Bull. ESPN's decision to not really show or talk about the Texans and drool over Tebow and the Cowboys didn't have anything to do with respect and it doesn't have anything to do with Houston only having their first playoff victory last season.. the league is a parody league now which changes on a year to year basis.. teams rise and fall every single season.

The Texans are now one of the best teams in the league, they're playing against a all time great QB who played his entire career in their division, it happens to be one of the biggest AFC matchups this week. This game WAS ONE OF THE BIGGEST STORY LINES ON THE WEEK. So much so that CBS decided to televise it all the way across the country. Only one network thought it was a foot note... ESPN. That doesn't have anything to do with "respect" as much as it has to do with just a crappy production company who cares more about sports gossip than actually covering sports stories that matter and have actual substance. Other networks are taking notice of the Texans and took notice of this game. It isn't a "respect" issue. LOL, think about it like this, without even winning another game, if Houston would sign T.O. or pick up a QB like Tebow ESPN would be all over the Texans coverage wise.. Do you really think they would just start taking notice, because they "respected us". They only care about gossip pieces, that's what they "respect".

I think it has more to do with Jerry Jones being the biggest media whore in all of sports.. He puts out for ESPN, supplies them with headlines and makes their jobs easier. In turn they're constantly talking about his team, even when his team sucks. It's a great relationship. They're not even "America's team" anymore, Pittsburgh is and they get half the coverage.

Rex Ryan and the Jets were doing this as well.. to the point where ESPN wasn't even talking about the SB winning NY Giants. Which further proves my point that ESPN's amount of coverage doesn't have anything to do with respect or wins. If you can't even get coverage in your own city over a freak show team like the NY Jets then ESPN really doesn't care about how much you win, they just want fluffy headlines. Again they're a gossip sports network. Think of them as the TMZ of sports coverage.

LOL, ESPN just had "Breaking News" and cut into a program to pull away to a Rex Ryan press conference where he announced Darrelle Revis tore his ACL

Andre Johnson could fall victim to a horrific farm accident and lose both arms and legs and he'd never get this ridiculous coverage (Ryan was basically crying), All you'd get was a bottom scroll.

This doesn't have crap to do with "respect" Which Houston will never gain after a big conference win.. Shat (the aftermath), the Giants don't even get the coverage that the (new cowboys, the Jets) do. It's comical

Baldinger was huge on Schaub when we picked him up. I remember his analysis was spot on regarding the upgrade at QB position, which has clearly been reinforced since then.

Yeah, but I do remember him blasting McNair for keeping Kubiak around a couple years ago. He basically said the Texans' failures start from the top. Which, at the time, was probably warranted too.

I've never had a problem with Baldy.

That said, I truly wish they'd get Irvin off my friggin TV. He ruins whatever show he's on when he opens his face.

I agree completely. ESPN likes to hire clowns.

I rarely watch ESPN. They give too much attention to certain teams, hyping irrelevant stories over winning teams. And many of their talking heads are just goofy. Unfortunately, NFLN is following ESPN's lead with shows like NFL AM.
