exactly. and with sound strategy and foresight, the coaches can influence what the defense gives us.

Because they didn't need to in order to win handily. They controlled the clock in record making fashion. Why on earth would they want to energize the opponent by putting the ball up for grabs and risk interception when the game was well in hand. Imagine the outcry of they got 80 injured on an unnecessary long pass. Kudos to Gary for managing the game intelligently.

Yeah, fantasy players have got to hate the Texans right about now. Especially those who own 8 and 80.
That's all I heard about all week around the water cooler. Why don't the Texans throw more, what's wrong with Schaub, why can't they get it to AJ? I'm like dude, they ran for 216 yards, had the ball for 45 minutes and won by 20. What the hell? Who gives a rat's ass about your fantasy team?

I don't think he necessarily held back. We tried the bootleg a few times but they were doubliing Andre.
The thing that makes our offense dangerous is that we spread the field so well that any team is going to have trouble locking us down. A team can shut down one piece but we will always have something else to take its place. I don't think shutting down the big play is necessarily the right strategy in every case. Dinking and dunking is very high percentage vs the big play and it's gotta be demoralizing / exhausting for teams to get beat repeatedly over the entire game. |
