Unfortunately, if you look at the video replay carefully, Incognito's explanation to the 2 arm resistance to hold Smith from recovering the fumble seems to prove true.

Incognito's explanation makes sense...this happens all the time when the ball pops out. Smith doesn't have a squeaky clean reputation either.

“I have seen the video,” Incognito said. “Once the ball was fumbled I grabbed his legs to stop him from recovering the fumble. It’s clear that I wrap my arms around both his legs. I was trying to keep him from scrambling to the ball.

“After the ball was recovered I felt him kicking me. I was trying to protect myself. Kind of like a turtle in a shell. At no time was I turning his ankle. My intent was to keep him from getting to the ball.”

But Incognito was pragmatic. “Obviously in a case like this I have no ground to stand on [because] of my reputation,” he said. “There is no evidence of me trying to injure him. The reason I’m seen holding onto one of his legs [because] he started kicking me in the arm and neck the the other. I had both legs in my grasp. The fact of the matter is I’m laying on his leg. There is no twisting motion whatsoever. He is clearly kicking me in the neck. Talk about dirty?”

I'm not sure what Antonio Smith was supposed to do if big dude has death grip on his ankles and won't let go after the whistle and the refs aren't doing a damned thing.

I don't think Incognito was nut grabbing at all. Maybe that was another play?

Antonio Smith upset Richie Incognito wasn't fined

Miami Dolphins guard Richie Incognito says he's not a dirty player anymore. We have video evidence that suggests otherwise (see above).

The NFL saw things a little differently.

Smith told The Associated Press that he's been fined $21,000 for kicking Incognito after the Dolphins fumbled in their Week 1 matchup with the Texans. The NFL confirmed the fine for Smith. Video of the play shows that Incognito stayed on Smith's ankle for a ridiculously long time, and Smith responded by kicking Incognito. Smith says Incognito tried to twist his ankle after the whistle.

Smith has been knownto get a flag or two & when I started reading I thought great we complain about dirty player but it is our guy. Then I watch video about 8 times and I cannot blame Smith. Iggie held on way too long & should have earned flag for holding. I'd have kicked the dog mess out of him also.
