I don't know what's going on or who is responsible but apparently he has hired lawyers. Maybe he is trying to milk the situation...or maybe McNair is waiting to see who is actually at fault...him, or the company in charge of hanging the signs....

I think McNair might be reluctant to accept blame...that'd be three events within the past month or so where safety at his stadium might be a concern.


Apparently they sign company is saying horseplay was involved, but they aren't giving specifics...

And the guy wasn't horseplaying...he was just sitting there and had his head split open.

To me it seems like everyone is trying to deflect the blame.

Just because his team is playing there does not make him responsible for the building, unless he is the owner, which I don't think he is. JMO

I mean, it looks a lot like the Bills fans are trying to get out there and are being held up by the Jets fans.

I'll say it again -- What happened in Dodgers stadium is going to happen again. Someone is going to get seriously injured or killed while being at a rival stadium, and its only going to happen because some people are incapable of separating that they are not actually part of the team they cheer for. And that its all supposed to be in the name of 'entertainment'

That guy who threw the punch should be immediately ejected and arrested (tried for assault) and banned from NFL, NBA, MLB, etc for life. If you aren't mature enough not to punch a woman in the face because she's wearing a different color shirt than you are, you aren't mature enough to be trusted in public



When my wife and I attended the Redskins away game a few years ago we got heckled a little by opposing fans, but it was all in fun. Except for 1 guy, who was yelling some pretty horrific things at my wife while we were walking to our car. We never exchanged words with the guy-- didn't make eye contact, didn't respond, etc -- but he kept on with his routine. As a Texan fan you are in the minority, and getting into it is never a good idea, but man its hard to hear some of that stuff and keep on walking. I want to go to the Pats game this December, but after watching this I don't even know

We are planning to go to the Jets Monday night game, this video makes me seriously reconsider it. I am thinking the Monday night crowd is going to be even more high tension.

Yeah, no kidding. Apparently they have no issue hitting women, so that's definitely something to think about. Hopefully it was just a handful of morons and not an accurate representation of the entire fanbase at the stadium.

Either way, take some bear spray with you. Spray that crap in their eyes & they'll leave you alone for the rest of the game. If nothing else, they won't be able to see you to hit you.

1. Print a "Do not sell list" Stub hub, ticketmaster, etc wouldn't be allowed to sell to that individual. Texans/Reliant can't hold you responsible for what someone does in your seat. I know what the contract says, I read (some ;D) of it. But what about when you donate your tickets to the Texans charity? If someone starts acting a fool, are they really going to try and void your PSL? I hope it never comes to that, but if the Texans do try to hold a PSL owner responsible for how someone who bought the owner's ticket behaves, I'll try to sell my PSL as quickly as I can and dump the team.

I was at the Steelers - Texans game in Reliant years ago (the infamous hot as hell open roof game that caused the roof rule) where the Steelers pummeled the Texans and on my way out of the stadium a trio of drunk Steelers fans were hovering around me and my pregnant wife shouting at us trying to start a fight. I was very worried as my wife was getting nervous these guys were really not letting up. I very much wanted to get my wife to safety as quickly as possible. Very bad scene.

ON the other side of the pendulum, I very nearly started a fight in the stands during a Titans - Texans games at Reliant during VY's either 1st or second year in the league....forget which. Some Titans fans in the seats not far from me were very loud and literally shouting in people faces including this older couple walking up the stairs. All of us were pissed at them but no one said anything. I stood up on my seat and did the horns down sign that anti UT fans do and may have shot some birds too...can't remember. There were a bunch of Texans fans between me and them that clapped and supported me which diffused the situation when homeboy acted like he wanted to make a move. Like I said, a lot of people were tired of their act so I triggered a bunch of people getting them to shut the hell up lol.

There are conflicting responsibilities / liability depending on the event and/or the service(s) involved. Blame can be shared by multiple entities (think deepwater horizon) People like to sue those with the deepest pockets.

I'm a pretty quiet person overall and for the most part I'm a quiet person at games. I stand and cheer and stuff like that, but I'm not this big talkative person who talks to everyone around me and yells at opposing fans.

I cannot imagine being in that situation minding my own business and someone puts their hands on me or my wife because we are rooting for the opposing team. That wouldn't be fun.

Maybe it was in the old agreement before the started partnering with and then owning a scalping service.

I remember something because around 2-14 people came on here and complained that their 'investment' was doing poorly and the response was always the language that says something about not selling them for profit.

The language about selling the PSL 'for profit' was stated in there (though not listed as illegal per se), but I never really saw anything about selling individual game tickets.

Heck, the Texans own PSL marketplace has them all well over "list" as it were.

You're right though, they aren't doing themselves any favors by running their own "above retail" sales space.

I think the only pragmatic way to deal with it without punishing all the responsible drinkers is to raise the beer prices and hire more HPD for security. People tend to settle down pretty quickly when a uniformed cop arrives at the scene. Those dudes don't mess around.

And that's just it. It is morons and they're everywhere, even right here in Houston, TX. You're a low life dicktard to start fights like that over sports teams.

I am fortunate that I have yet to run across these dicktards in person in the 104 games I've attended at Reliant and we give the business to plenty of opposing teams fans. But it's always in good fun and sometimes actually quite humorous.

I think it's safe to say that something like this would get stopped by the fans in our section. Most of the people there are always there and are not the dicktards mentioned above. As I've siad, we give the business to opposing teams fans, and in the parking lots too. But it's never serious, it's never ugly or hateful - just all in good fun.

I have never attended a road game, but I will some day, and I'm going to have to try and be a little more cautious, even in the playful banter back and forth, because I know some people just can't take a freaking joke. Most people will be gracious hosts and act like the civil human beings most of us are, but the dicktards are there, ready to douse you with beer, chunk batteries at you and punch your women. I've been to a game where some friends of mine brought this one guy who turned into a completely different person when he got drunk. He started throwing ice at these Dolphin fans one time, and really embarrassed us. It was like Jekell and Hyde all of a sudden. I kept telling him to stop and he would for a while, and then he'd do something really really stupid. At one point he shoved some older fella on the ramp for no reason other then the fact that he had on a Dolphins jersey. Luckily the guy did nothing back, but at that point I grabbed the guy with us and sort of shoved him into the wall and really bitched him out. I was sick of getting embarrassed by this clown. He finally calmed down after that.

I've never understood the mentality to want to get into a fight with other fans and heckle them to a point where they have to fear for their safety. That is not what going to a game is all about. It is supposed to be a friendly place where people can enjoy themselves and watch great athletes perform. Nothing wrong with some friendly heckling, but it is definitely getting to a point where it isn't that safe for fans to go to other team's stadiums. I don't know what the hell I would do if a ton of fans started throwing beer and food at me. I have a bad temper with stuff like that, and with tons and tons of fans threatening me physically and shouting in my face, I'd probably want to stab somebody. I'm not saying that I'd do it, but some of the situations that I've seen have been extremely dangerous for people and I won't take any chances if I feel like I might get jumped by like 15 fans who want to crush some fan from another team.
