Default Aj

AJ looked like the beast he is again today, breaking tackles, catching everything he could get his hands on burning the jags coverage constistently. Hopefully we can get him the ball frequently in the upcoming games. The time we struggled most seemed to be in the 2nd quarter when we didnt even throw at AJ, other than that, he made big plays when we needed him... shame about the final score, but thats corey bradford for ya...

As far as a franchise player goes, AJ is it. We need him so much more than he needs us and I only pray he stays around for the long haul. Some of you might consider sharing that Kool-Aid with him, if he leaves us any time soon we will be in sad shape.

I just hope we can continue giving him the ball in the future. It seems the Jags were confused, they doubled bradford but put AJ in single coverage (lol), i just hope that the other guys can step up enough to keep the double team off of AJ, becasue we just saw waht he can do despite not beeing 100% and agianst one of the best corners in the league. By the way, the jags secondary kept chad johnson to only abut 50yds...

AJ's not going anywhere. Thanks to this section of the NFL CBA called Franchise Player Designations. Of course AJ is signed through '08, so it's not a pressing issue at the moment.

I suspect that when we have AJ, DD and Mathis on the field at the same time, some good things will happen.

Doubt that will ever happen. One of them will get a hang nail and have to "sit the bench."

Hey Gma,

Yesterday we saw one reason Mathis dropped to the 4th round. He gets little nagging injuries and misses games. This happens to a lot of track types. They are wound tight and they tend to miss games. Look at Roy Williams up in Detroit. I bet they wish they went another direction now even though he has massive talent.

It amazes me how fragile SOME NFL players seem to be. They get a little scratch, bruise, or muscle cramp and they want to sit out for a month or so. BUT, I guess it keeps all those high paid trainers and conditioning coaches in the high dollar bracket! I remember the day when an injured player would NEVER WALK off the field before the game was over. He would get patched up on the sideline and get his butt back out there and play ball. If a player was really injured, he would be carted off on a stretcher. Now they get a little cramp and they head to the locker room to sit in the whirlpool. I know the word MONEY plays a big part in this, one way or another. Toughness has left the NFL!! JMO!

Take a look at his agent and you it isn't to far fetched to think this kid will be gone if the losing continues.

It left once it saw Earl Campbell not being able to walk on his own.

So on the play where AJ was open and Carr overthrew him, was it AJ's fault for stopping his route? That would have been a sure touchdown.

Quote:
Earlier in that drive, Johnson had the chance to catch a big pass. On first-and-10 at Jacksonville's 43, Carr overthrew Johnson, who had stopped short in his route. Johnson was open with nobody between him and the end zone.

"(After) not playing four games, I was a little winded," said Johnson, who had been out with a calf injury. "I was running my route and didn't see him. When I looked back again, the ball was in the air. I think that came from me being a little winded at the end of the game.
