Well, it looks like the Texans are going to sit at 7 on the PS for now. I will update this if an 8th player is signed before the season begins. Furthermore, since Dwight Jones neither made the team/PS nor was cut, I decided to just give him 1 point. I felt that was fair, since the next lowest point potential was 2.5 (5th option making the practice squad). If that is not cool with everyone, then I can remove it.

Congratulations to TexCanada, Dutchrudder, and RT22! They each totaled 12 points. I, sadly, came in last with a lowly 3.5 points. Next year will be my time! Thanks for participating, and Go Texans!

Just curious, but did Dwight Jones retire from football entirely or do the Texans still own his rights if he decides to ever come back one day?

All I could find was this bit of old information online...

"After going undrafted in the 2012 NFL Draft, Jones was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent. In May 2012, he informed the Texans of his decision to not pursue a professional football career. The team placed him on the reserve/did not report list shortly thereafter."

I only ask because I'm still trying to remain optimistic after he claimed he was the next Andre Johnson. LOL

But in all seriousness, I have no clue what the reserve/did not report list means and I know we're stacked at WR with Jean, Martin and Posey stepping up. But I hate to see a guy with Dwight Jones' size and speed give up the game. I think he may want to come back one day.

I'm just trying to figure out if he did come back do the Texans own his rights and can place him on their practice squad, or is he automatically a street free agent?

We own his rights until the contract he signed runs out. It was a smart decision not to release him, because should he decide to come back, we still have first dibs. And if he does not, we are not paying him anything, and he does not count against the cap.

But, as far as I know, he is done with the NFL.
