Not to sound like a ass, but you don't honor stupidity and the Texans shouldn't do anything before their season opener and they certainly shouldn't build a staute. (What would the statue even look like?) This isn't some father trying to catch a baseball for his little boy, it's a 45 yo drunken idiot who was trying to slide down a escalator. This is not the first time a drunk fell to his death either, it happened at a Jets game a few years ago. Just chalk it up to in life your choices have consequences (sometimes grave) and move on. When you make a stupid decision, sometimes it can be the last one you make. Sadly it happens everyday.
I just hope it wasn't Bill. |

Shame for his family. The kids have to grow up fatherless and the wife has to go through all of this because of utter stupidity.

Does anyone know if it was before or after the game? I seen an Ambulance pulling in to the stadium right before the game started. Just wondering if it was for this guy.

Very sad for his family and friends, and my prayers will go up for them. BUT, to honor a drunk who made a childish decision is insane!
I was wondering why they were pushing fans to the ramp, and now I know. BUT, he could have fallen over the rails just as easily. WHY do fans feel they have to drink themselves TO DEATH!! SMH!!

Fat chance they encourage this type of behavior by canonizing the guy.

I haven't heard of any incidences of fans flinging themselves off of the stands at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.

I hope he was drunk because if he wasn't then he had to be very stupid. I feel for his family and hope he was drunk and didn't feel anything. This seemed like one of those "hold my beer and watch this" moments. God bless the man and his family.

Caught wind of this last night when they wouldn't let anyone down the Coca-Cola Gate Ramp, the one I usually enter/exit.

My assumption is that the young man was drunk based on the behavior. Of course, there could be another explanation to why a person would exit from the 6th level, slide down the escalator then risk falling another four or five stories to the ground. Perhaps?
I also read that the victim was 25 instead of 45. |

I have/had a working relationship with the individual.
Reports are saying he was 45. He was actually 25. Very unfortunate this happened. I don't know if he was drunk or not but regardless, God rest his soul. |

I hope all of you got your walking shoes broken in for the next game. Expect to see all the escalators "down for maintenance". Watch some ambulance chaser convince the family that somehow it was negligence on the stadium's part because the escalator wasn't 'idiot-proofed' enough.
And yet, we want to 'honor' him? Jesus. |

I've got tickets to the Miami game...6th level. I don't mind the walking, though, as I usually need it from all that grub I've eaten while tailgating. I feel bad for the dude's family and those fans that had to witness it. I can't imagine what I'd tell my kid if he had seen something so tragically senseless. I'd probably use it as a lesson to warn against stupidity, to be quite honest. |
