I have always thoguht he needed more playin time to prove himself and after watchin the game do ya think he is a long-term linebacker for us. When Kailee comes back next season will he or greenwood be in trouble of losing their spots to him? How good do ya think he is?

Hes okay. I think he had 9 tackles this game.

Career back up and capable sub for injured starter. Pretty darn good special teams player.

I think Vinny hit the nail on the head. If Wong was healthy Polk wouldn't crack the starting lineup, but he's a very good special teams guy. Never underestimate the value of a good special teamer.

I watched Polk a little more closely this game, he has some very good reads. Watch him plug the gap, he's getting a knack for doing it well. He's still making a few mistakes in pass coverage, but he's coming along very nicely.

He is a career backup who should have made Foreman a backup last year without the injury. Another swift move by the Texans' coaching staff.

I think Polk has done a great job so far and I love the fact that when he rushes to the QB, he bull rushes the lineman, overpowering him, not trying to do a spin move all the time. Maybe he should teach Peek and Babin some moves.

It is also easier to bull rush a guy when you have a 6 yard running start

He is good on special teams. We gave up around 150 on the ground though. Something needs done.

I thought Polk was very active and physical in the Browns game. It has been said that it takes time to pick up Fangio's defensive scheme. I'll go back over the tape later, but at first glance Polk seems to be learning the position.

Put it this way, if you are a running back with the ball who do you run at Greenwood, Wong, or Polk. Look at Polks intensity and for sure you run the other way. He has the look of a madman while the other two look like baseball players.

why is everyone always a career backup?

I mean.. how many inside linebackers can you name in the NFL? I bet you cant name one for every team.. and if you can.. I bet ya alot of them are "average" players.

Im just saying we cant have the greatest player to ever play at every position.. if Polk does his job and makes a play now and again.. isnt that enough to be a starter?

im not trying to start anything.. I just think that eventually we need to start trusting in our own, homegrown talent.

I termed him a career back up because he has been a ...er, career back up. 102 tackes in 6 years is 17 tackles per year in his career...as a back up. He isn't 'homegrown' either - his first 4 years was with the Bills.

I like him more than Wong. He has more speed and he made some tackles on the other side of the line. He also punished the ball carrier on a few hits.

Polk had a sack-enforced fumble on Sunday that was credited in the box score to Walker as well. Rich Lord asked Capers about it on-air and Capers confirmed.

I would have liked to see Polk and Wong in there earlier this season before Wong got hurt, but obvously that isn't an option now.
