to clarify, I was speaking about cuts from other teams to add to our roster. I guess we could strengthen our team by cutting some but not what I was thinking of.

June 1 is not a magical date which floods the market any more. Teams have been able designate an early cut as a June 1 cut and are generally managing the cap better so no need to hold a player with a alrge signing bouns until that date.

I did a quick scan and saw noone immediately, but there might be a player or two i missed...won't more than handful who are cut because of that date.

I suspect that they will me more cut because draft moves than for June 1 purposes.

Me too, any reason you didn't include WR? I would not be surprised if we pick up a vet discard especially if JJ is moved.

agreed. Still some teams like Philly, Washington & Dallas may need to release some vets like Dallas did with James. Hoping so anyway. Love some more tweaking.

Well in thinking it over I kinda tossed up in my mind between how much value Kubiak seems to put on time in the system, and the sheer number of bodies we've already got competing at the position already. I wouldn't rule out any other position being picked up, but I just feel that if they do pick up a wideout he isn't too likely to get on the field much at all, and it'd be a damning verdict for all that talent we've picked up over the last 2 offseasons at the position.

Be interested to hear your thoughts on that viewpoint, since you've watched all these guys play through college etc, but right now we have a load of guys already signed who have been talked up a lot on here, who aren't all going to make the team as it stands, how many will we carry? 5 or 6 tops with maybe 2 on the PS?

As UDFA's. I make that 11 guys going after roster spots already, 12 if you count Holliday as a WR prospect, of course you always try to improve where and when you can, but anyone they bring in is going to be a Bryant Johnson type pickup at best I'd have thought, especially given the cap situation, and will mean giving up on someone who they obviously believe has some potential to do well for us.

I'm not sure how that would work even if Matt goes on the PUP list as it still counts as a roster spot not even taking into consideration that Beck IMO has probably seen the end of his playing days. I have nothing other than my gut feeling that if Case Keenum was placed on the PS that he'd be plucked. Again, nothing to base this on other than gut feeling.
