Default My mock 2

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) Shea McClellin, OLB, Boise State
Height: 6-3. Weight: 260.
40 Time: 4.62. 10-Yd Split: 1.57.
Bench: 19.
Vertical: 31.5. Broad: 9-10.
Arm: 32 3/4. Hand: 10 1/8.
Projected Round (2012): 1-2.
4/14/12: McClellin improved his draft stock with a quality season, but it was hurt when he weighed in at 248 pounds at the Senior Bowl. At that weight, McClellin is really only an option to be a 3-4 outside linebacker as he does not have the size necessary to be a 4-3 base end.

In the month leading up to the Combine, McClellin added 12 pounds. He had a excellent performance in Indianapolis with a fast 40 and a great showing in the field drills. At the heavier weight, some 4-3 teams may consider McClellin for end, but he still will fit best as a 3-4 outside linebacker at the next level. McClellin's stock has been rising high over the past few months, and he could crack the first round.

McClellin recorded 50 tackles, seven sacks, 12.5 tackles for a loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble and a blocked kick. Aside from playing as a traditional defensive end, he lined up for the Broncos as both a stand-up rush linebacker and an inside linebacker.

2) Derek Wolfe, DE/DT, Cincinnati
Height: 6-5. Weight: 295.
40 Time: 4.94. 10-Yd Split: 1.70.
Bench: 33.
Vertical: 33.5. Broad: 9-0.
Arm: 33 1/4. Hand: 10 3/4.
Projected Round (2012): 2-3.
4/14/12: Wolfe performed well, yet flew under the radar at the Combine. He had a quality week at the Senior Bowl and had his share of wins. The senior had an excellent season with 70 tackles, 21.5 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles and 9.5 sacks.

At the point of attack, Wolfe overwhelms offensive linemen with his strength and speed. He closes on the quarterback quickly and plays the run extremely well. Wolfe has a nice repertoire of pass-rushing moves, and he uses a strong rip move.

Entering the NFL, Wolfe has very good technique with a steady motor. He could be an ideal 3-4 defensive end. If Wolfe is going to stay as a 4-3 defensive tackle, he should add some more weight if he is going to be inside on every down. Some 4-3 teams could play him at left defensive end on running downs and move him inside in passing situations.

3) Brandon Mosley, OT, Auburn
Height: 6-6. Weight: 314.
40 Time: 5.21.
Bench: 30.
Arm: 34.
Projected Round (2012): 3-4.
4/6/12: Mosley had a solid performance at the Combine, and that should help his stock. He was a Second-Team All-SEC selection in 2011. Mosley started 12 games at right tackle and one game at left tackle this season. He started 11 games in 2010. Mosley is a tough run blocker who helped pave the way for running back Michael Dyer to have a huge season.

4) A.J. Jenkins, WR, Illinois (HOPE HE IS STILL HERE)
Height: 6-0. Weight: 190.
40 Time: 4.39.
Vertical: 33.
Broad: 10-4
Arm: 32 1/4. Hand: 9 1/4.
Projected Round (2012): 3-4.
4/4/12: Jenkins had a very productive senior season. He caught 90 passes for 1,276 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2010, as a junior, Jenkins hauled in 56 passes for 746 yards and seven touchdowns. He has the speed to get downfield. Jenkins is a good value in the mid-rounds and had an impressive week at the East-West Shrine. He showed his foot speed with a great Combine and followed that up with a strong pro day.

4) Will Blackwell, G/C, LSU
Height: 6-4. Weight: 314.
Projected 40 Time: 5.03.
Arm: 33 3/4. Hand: 10 1/2.
Projected Round (2012): 5-6.
4/6/12: Blackwell held his own at the Senior Bowl and had a quality week, but he did not get invited to the Scouting Combine. Blackwell had a strong senior season opening up holes on the ground for LSU. He also was a good pass protector for his quarterbacks. Blackwell was LSU's starter at right guard for the 2010 season. He has some developmental potential and should get cross-trained at center. He was a first-team All-SEC selection this year.

5) Greg Childs, WR, Arkansas
Height: 6-3. Weight: 219.
40 Time: 4.39.
Vertical: 36.5.
Broad: 10-5.
Hand: 10 1/8.
Projected Round (2012): 4-6.
4/4/12: At his pro day, Childs burned a fast 40 at 4.39. He wasn't as fast at the Combine (4.55), but Childs is gradually showing that he is improving from his knee injury. That recovery is definitely going to help his stock.

6) Randy Bullock, K, Texas A&M
Height: 5-9. Weight: 212.
Projected Round (2011): 6-FA.
4/21/12: Bullock was the AP's All-American First-Team selection at kicker after being one of the most accurate kickers in college football in 2011. He made 29-of-33 field goal attempts. On extra points, Bullock was 55-of-57. He was 16-of-21 in 2010 and was good on all 50 extra point attempts. Bullock made all 51 of his extra point attempts in 2009 and was 12-of-19 on field goal attempts. His career long field goal was from 50 yards entering the 2011 season.

Bullock has a pre-draft visit with the Texans

7) Cody Johnson, FB, Texas
Height: 5-11. Weight: 250.
40 Time: 4.7.
Projected Round (2012): 5-7.
4/4/12: Johnson couldn't participate in an All-Star game because of an injury. He also didn't work out at the Combine, but he did have a good pro day. Johnson ran well with 40 times in the 4.7 range. He showed enough athletic ability to learn how to contribute as a pass receiver.

Johnson did a superb job of lead blocking in 2011. He had 48 rushes for 200 yards and six touchdowns. Johnson also had one reception for four yards. In the NFL, he should have the ability to contribute as a short-yardage back in power formations while also being a starting fullback.

I like this mock and would be happy if it turned out this way, but, I think the Texans will draft a QB and a TE somewhere in the later rounds, unless they go for Fleener in the 1st.

I like the mock! We are both similar in what we see the Texans doing, as my mock covers many of the same needs just in a slightly different order. I think Childs has the potential to be a #1 and is a STEAL if he falls to us in the 4th or 5th. Also like Mosely and Wolfe quite a bit.

Can't wait for Thursday!!!

Agree with your thinking but may not go QB if they fell Matt on track. Will pick up one or two after draft and maybe another vet. Thing about Fleener, he could play WR2 or TE.

I do hear of Cousins(QB) in the 2nd round to us in a yahoo columnist Mock..heard it on sports 610
...I say we may go back to a free agent QB who knows the terminology already..i do see us drafting a QB..next year when we only need to draft for depth and not so much out of need...I got no argument on Fleener...OD,Casey and Grahm...hoping we snag a true FB, so Casey can play TE

I like this mock a lot. Would make minor changes, but I really like it overall.

I would do a backflip. Maybe you could sneak in another OL prospect but that would be awfully nitpicky of me. McClellin AND Wolfe? Wade would be ecstatic and our D would be feared!!!

thanks TimeKiller..I really wanted Andre Branch..but he may be a reach in the
1st @ 26 and he would be gone by the time we pick in the 2nd...but I like this line up...I would be hoping Jenkins and Childs were there when we pick...thanks again..

I know having Matt healthy for the season will play a part in in where they draft a QB, but I will be surprised if they don't draft one at all, given the way the QB situation went last season for them. I just don't see them going into camp with their 2 QB's and maybe some UDFA QB's or some old vet FA. OK, maybe they talk Delhome into coming back. But I just feel they will pick a later round QB for development that can be their 3rd stringer like Yates was supposed to be last season. JMHO!
