Best safety in the draft. Upgrades the secondary which will upgrade the pass rush and upgrade the run stopping. Zen. Physically gifted and smart player with ball skills and loads of potential.

2- Marvin McNutt, WR, Iowa
6'2'' 215 lbs. 4.56-40

Ideal possession receiver, could play outside or slot, gets open, makes the catch, moves the chains. Not a game breaker but that's not what I'm asking him to be.

3- Tommy Streeter, WR, Miami
6'5'' 205 lbs. 4.55-40

Here's your game breaker. Will push defenses back, open the middle and running lanes. Lots of development to do but could be great.

4- Kheeston Randall, DT, Texas
6'5'' 300 lbs. 5.10-40

Immovable DT, plays with outstanding leverage and strength. Not much of a pass rusher but will make the rotation and allow Mitchell to move outside.

5- Rishaw Johnson, OG, California (Pa.)
6'4'' 305 lbs. 5.20-40

Developmental OG

6- Marcel Jones, OT, Nebraska
6'7'' 315 lbs. 5.30-40

Gigantic Developmental OT.

7- Adrian Robinson, OLB, Temple
6'0'' 235 lbs. 4.75-40

Developmental OLB. Undersized but good pass rusher.

I would like to see more emphasis on speed. Texans put extra weight on combine numbers. Barron/McNutt must run under 4.5 to even be considered. The belief is speed kills, that you can't teach it, either have it or you don't so if they reach it will be on someone who can stretch the field or close gaps quickly.

I don't think Barron is participating in the combine right? I think people generally consider him physically gifted and big for a safety. Tommy Streeter should definitely put up a big combine, his height and speed are a lot to gamble on but who else is available in the 3rd? Brian Quick maybe? Dwight Jones? McNutt might not run like that but I'm seeing him more as a possession guy anyway.

Randall should be on the Texans radar at DT. I don't think he has the versatility to swing out to DE but has upside as a 1-gap guy who can soak up blockers against the run. His backing up Cody allows Mitchell to move to DE and improve depth there too.

What do you think of Nigel Bradham?

For some reason I don't see Brian Quick getting out of the second. His draft stock will improve after the combine. McNutt is lacking something for me to be high on him. Solid posession receiver, just makes the catch, secures the ball and gets upfield. From the mich st game I watched it seemed like he didn't highpoint the ball very well, catches a lot of balls at waist level without extending or going back to the ball when it's called for. Doesn't have the over the top ability/speed like streeter but I'd be curious to see where his 10yd split is as Streeter is slow on the first step and might not be productive being jammed at the line.

See Quick as early third but if there is a run on position then second is a distinct possiblity. McNutt is a complete WR with good size, think of a more fluid athletic Kevin Walter. Streeter is interesting, but then so was Jacoby.

Lane College is not the U. Not even close. Streeter averaged 17.6 YPC, Jacoby 12 in his final year. Streeter has game changing ability, Jacoby does as well unfortunately

I don't mind us drafting Streeter in 3rd. However, my only concern is if he puts up some great 40 time, his stock may rise fast. I hope his available for us in the 3rd. I really want us to go after WR in the 1st and 3rd rd if suitable WR is available for us.

That's how I feel about it too...I think he may get overrated and end up in the 2nd, I think a 3rd would be a great value for him but I doubt he gets all the way down to the Texans' 3rd.

I never did see much of Sharpton, was a total surprise pick to me. Bradham looks entirely more athletic though but equally willing to put his body on the line. Any upside as an OLB/rusher?

Exactly how I feel about both WR. I think McNutt is a perfect possession type prospect and since the Texans' game is ball control and trying to get 2nd and 3's...I feel McNutt is a good pick but another guy who probably won't fall all the way to the Texans' 3rd. Then you've got Lestar Jean in the waiting which might make this pick redundant...

Streeter does have that JJ "potential" to him but his athleticism is even a cut above JJ's. At 6'5'' if he can run in the 4.4's I think he's ANOTHER guy who gets overrated in this deep WR class. However, I feel if he can connect with AJ and be the guy to develop (like JJ couldn't)...he's got the potential to be Randy Moss v.2. He can get behind a defense in a blink.

Yeah I actually kind of have a problem with my own mock, taking two WR back to back...I'm getting the guys I wanted but especially in the 2nd and 3rd I pass up on so many other good players at good positions. And especially if there is a run of WR (there is bound to be one) that means some other player is falling.

Any opinions of K. Randall? Any diehard longhorn fans? Bueller? I think that guy is a stud in the making, watch games of him...he's extremely long but gets low and never goes backward. Never. Like I said, I don't think he's got the potential to be a swing DE/DT like say Fletcher Cox but as a backup to Cody he'd be eating up blocks like a hungry hungry hippo.

Small reach here but the guy has elite physical measurables, something the Texans have always coveted out of their 1st rounders. Equipped to play press coverage and speed to match almost all recievers stride for stride down the field. A certified playmaker but competition he faced isn't the best in college which is probably why a guy with his build is available late in the 1st. Improve the coverage: improve the pass rush.

Just out of curiousity, how many drafts since Kubes has been here have we not selected a TE? I think we target TE in the 4th, Ladarius Greene is my guy but he won't be there by the end of the 4th. A 6'6" Beast of a TE who runs a 4.53 40? Guy could easily be the next Gronk. I'd take him in the 4th if we're serious about an upgrade over OD or Dreesen (if he goes elsewhere). Evan Rodriguez would also be another option in the 4th.

I could see a guy like Beau Reliford from FSU taken in the 7th as a prospect to groom. He's got a basketball background and is a pretty good blocker. Get him in a pro weight room learning how to run a route with Owen Daniels and he could be a steal.

I doubt he skyrockets though, still probably a late 2nd/early 3rd prospect. He's got to learn how to run routes and catch with his hands but that kind of physical skill could be molded into something fierce.

Yep, 4.40. You can't teach speed and height and other can be taught so, some teams will be tempted with potential to draft him in the 2nd rd IMO. What about Hill? Now, this guy is catching a lot people eyes at the combine (the way media are saying).

Is there WR worth drafting in the 1st rd at 26th pick? Floyd looks to me will be gone way before our pick. Wright didn't run well. Jeffery is a question mark, don't know why he didn't run. Sunu had disappointing 40. Randle maybe? I am not sure there's one for us. If there's a partner to trade with, maybe we trade back and get an extra pick or draft other position. WR prospects I am now interested in Quick, Streeter. Is Hill another Jacoby? (Speed without hands)
