They only had 40,000 people in attendance. Apparently tickets must have been scalped at like $5 apiece for that kind of lowlife to get into the game and throw trash at a player's family.

I don't know if it's true, but I wouldn't be surprised. Ohio State fans throw bottles at the opposing team's fans all the time. I've heard more stories about it than I could count.

I could be wrong but my interpretation of the smiley face after the comment as it appears on their board indicates the poster was being sarcastic.

FACT!!!

Went to Cincy several years ago. We had front row seats in the corner near the visiting team tunnel. We were pelted with ice cubes and other garbage the entire time.

That's not true. We're crappy fans who name call and taunt and yell and scream and set couches on fire, but I think saying thrown bottles is common place is unfair.

"Common place" is a broad term, so I'll backpedal on implying that, but I will say it has happened frequently in the past.

When I was at UT, I heard many stories by other students who got hit by bottles at the Horseshoe. I've heard the same thing from my Michigan friends who went to rivalry games, and I've even heard it from a couple of my customers. I've met many Ohians who do well to counter that image, like you or my friend's fiancee, but the bad apples among that fanbase are establishing a reputation.
