A good team, yea, but when you are a mediocre (at best) it often comes down to one play, one call, etc.

The reality of it is that we are just not that great of a team, and although, yea its a 60 minute game, we aren't good enough to have plays like that taken away from us, especially at that specific time in the game.

I guess you could say we don't deserve to win if that's the case, but we have to at least be given a chance on the last drive of the game.

Default Secondary is terrible

Is it just me or has the secondary seemed clueless all season. I'm so tired of this. I'm ashamed to be a Texans fan. Seems like even Dunta is not getting it done.

How come we can't get any pass rush? Seems like every o-line in the NFL is a match for our d-line...except our own.

The offense looked ok today...but I am not convinced of Andre Johnson. Everyone talks him up yet I can only remember him dropping passes. Most of Carr's problems I blame on the dismal o-line.

Thanks!

It feels good to finally have a great team!

Normally, I agree. I hate complaining about the refs. However, when a game is that close one play IS the difference. Especially when they have a chance to review a play that was OBVIOUSLY the wrong call. The refs pulled the rug out from us when we were driving and only needed a FG.
That said, the Bengals were still the better team today.

This game didn't come down to one call or one play. We scored one TD for cripes sakes. You can't win games like that too often.

Well, I'm pissed about the loss, but I do like that they came to compete today. There's still some work to be done. DC, should not have been sacked as many times as he was today - some of which I think were his fault. Defense needs to put more pressure on the QB.

Let's hope they can turn it around next week against Tennessee and continue beating them.

THE SEASON ISN'T OVER Y'ALL.

That's sort of my point. When you are that average (at best) one play can dictate whether you win or lose. They didn't do enough positive to overcome the negative. They did more positive than the first two weeks, but still not enough.

obviously you know far more about football than i do, but i really thought that when they ended up something like 4 and 41, carr should have got rid long before instead of going so far back, i'm going on what the commentators said as well as my own thoughts with that one.

This is likely to be the only texans game shown live over here this season, and i thought they looked far better than the highlights from previous weeks showed, Carr was picking out the right passes at times and the team made good progress up the field, it's just a shame that he gets sacked so bloody often, there is clearly a lot of work to be done on the o-line, and Carr needs to use the time he's given far better.

Well, Carr definitely has to work on his pocket presence... it's one of his bigger weaknesses. I just think when the defense is sending nearly everyone back in a prevent, the o-line should be able to give Carr some good time.
And we looked WAY better this week compared to the last two.

We couldn't do much with Casserly's drafting and FA pickups today though...we have the same players.
I totally agree, Vinny. Pendry definitely understands this unit better than Palmer did. Simply, the Oline's inability to pass block for 2 seconds prevented this team from scoring closer to 30 points today. I can't comment much on Pitts or Weigert but Wade, McKinney, and Riley were amazingly bad today. Riley single-handedly stalled 2 good drives with penalties and whiffed blocks.

Riley, Wade, McKinney, Bradford, RSmith, TJohnson, Greenwood, Buchanan, MColeman... all of those guys look like mediocre to bad NFL players and they are all essential to this teams success. I'm very concerned about Casserly at this point.

By the way, Carr played a heck of a game!... So did Dunta Robinson...

Also, I'd like to see Capers bench players and get in their face for playing poorly instead of just yelling at Peek when he gets into a fight. At least he's putting plus effort into it and making plays. His antics are the least of their problems. By the way, when do we start pressuring the QB? Is that part of the 5 year plan?

Default No difference

Bottom line -- no difference. The O-line still allowed too many sacks, the offense only scored one TD and Andre Johnson once again was a non-factor. True, the team was at least competitive but that certainly was not because of any better offensive output. It's not the losses that I mind. Heck, I expected them to lose the first three even before the meltdown. But what concerns me is the continued high number of sacks and the absolute failure of the offense to mount any kind of production. This team has fallen back to 2002 as far as the offense goes. Davis may be better than mack and Andre Johnson is a vast improvement at WR, but heck -- who would know it when you look at their production? Next week is the real test. If they stink it up against Tennessee at home, then you'll know we have made several steps back.

Well, good to see that things are looking more positive for the Texans. Being in Australia I do not get too see to many games, still waiting for the first one this year!!!! :brickwall

I have got to say that looking at the stats and comments from different places this week was one hell of an improvement. The thing that stands out for me is the 90 yard drive with ten plays for a touchdown, not too bad for a team struggling with Offence...When the O line gets tighter there will be less sacks and more touchdowns, you would hope. The D done quite a job too....Good on em, lets hope there is more too come.

All it takes is a little confidence and a winning streak to get this team into the final series this year, it can happen. Over here in Australia (NRL: National Rugby League) the team that won the Grand Final last night was 150 - 1 odds 15 weeks into the competition!!! Because the Comp was so tight it left them with a window of opportunity...With their backs against the wall they banded together through all of the public slagging and come out fighting!!!! This is what i feel is going to happen here....Remember, you heard it from me first....

I'm 95% sure the bengals will go 16-0 and win the superbowl... maybe 96%
