Does anyone know if Mathis is due back in action against PITT? I am interested to see if he will change the game any.

Rookie wide receiver Jerome Mathis, who has been bothered by a sore hamstring, returned to practice Thursday and should be available for Sunday's home opener against the Steelers.

The Texans need someone to come in and shake up their passing game, and Mathis with his sub-4.3 speed just might be the guy. There's a chance he may still be deactivated Sunday, but the fact that he's healthy enough to practice has to warm Texans coach Dom Capers' heart.

Guess good ol'Dom has to look at the stats and write a few things down in his notebook before figuring out if he plays. If he's healthy or hurt, let the man play. If he injured, let'em ride the bench.
