Default Badboy's April mock

Top 10 in no particular order; 1. Darreus 2. Bowers (too good to drop out of ten)3. Gabbert 4. AJ green 5. Von Miller 6. Peterson 7. Newton 8. Quinn (medical will reduce tumor issue)9. Fairly 10. Tyron Smith (my partner Beerlover assures me Dallas takes this guy). I can see Tennesse going for Ponder or allowing another team to trade up for him. Once Gabbert & Newton gone & no trades allowed, teams needing Qb will get antsy.

1. Julio Jones WR 6'3" 220 lbs 4.39(broken foot) 381/2" vertical, 1st 10 yards in 40 1.5 seconds. This is an AJ type player. Texans MUST get an impact guy in first round. There is no impact OLB until much lower. Aldon Smith leg is still an issue. DE Watt is great but may not beat out A. Smith in his first season. Hoping for a trade down but JJ is a possible franchise type guy. Allows team to let Jacoby go.
2. Phil Taylor NT 6'3" 334 lbs. Benched 31, 5.09 with a better 3 cone than Darreus. He may be gone but he is dropping on some boards more to other players rising than anything against this Baylor Boy.
3. Sam Acho OLB/ILB 6'2" 262lbs, 23 bench with good punch. Senior Bowl most outstanding defensive player for the South team. He may move into second round & my alternate is Mason Foster.
4. Chris Culliver FS/CB 6'3/8" 200 lbs 4.36 with excellent combine skills, back pedal, hips/swivle excellent. Played 3 seasons FS & senior as a CB. I think Phillips wants to move Quin to FS & this pick allows coach options.
5. Chikwe Brown CB 5'11" 190lbs 4.33, 34" arms, hips fair and back pedal good. I think Phillips brings in a vet CB FA when CBA resolved. Corner needs to be cleaned up with some guys let go.
6. Chris Prosinski FS/SS 6'1" 210 lbs & can play either position. 108 tackles!
7. Nathan Enderle QB & Matt Schaub typle player. 6'4" 233 lbs
NFLdraftscout.com: Improvement was evident in 2008, as he completed 54.3 percent of his passes for 2,077 yards and 20 scores, but he still threw 17 picks. His maturation continued in 2009 as he completed 61.5 percent of his passes, threw for 2,906 yards and connected for 22 touchdowns against only nine interceptions. Accuracy: Has improved his accuracy each season, does a good job generally getting the ball where it needs to go. Can thread the needle between defensive backs over the middle. Good touch and trajectory on fade patterns in the end zone and on the sideline, puts ball where only receiver can find it. Not deadly accurate on short timing throws, however, often forcing his receivers to go low or wide. Inconsistent on purposely-thrown balls behind his receiver, will get them too close to the defender at times. Can be forced into interceptions when under pressure.

love first four picks, if they're there which is doubtful. the last three not so much, which means they probably will be there.

I sure dont see Taylor making it out of the first round ..... Would be great if he did fall that far.

I'm the furthest thing from a Phil Taylor fan. But if he is there in the second, I'm totally behind risking it on him.

I really don't think he will pan out in the NFL as a starter. But the ceiling is high if he can ever reach it.

Agreed, in fact I argued against Taylor being available in second at first but he has slipped on some boards & I think Mayock has him @ 30. I think teams ahead of Houston in second will go for QBs, DBs and DEs allowing Taylor to slide. This has been a weird mock for me as players keep sliding all over the place. I for example do not see Quinn or Bowers sliding as far as others think. Bowers was supposed to get a medical last Saturday (April 9th) but I can't find anything on one.

I think Taylor has the complete market to himself so teams will reach to get him.

I understand but I read the market as teams seeking DEs both 4-3 & 3-4 and 3 tech DTs. I think there are a couple LBs like Acho that could easily be DEs. Unfortunately, none are rated above Taylor. On another matter, I had voiced earlier this thread on DA'Quan Bowers medical condition moving him down. The report did come back unfavorable to player and he will probably continue to drop. I have also seen reports that JJ Watt and Cam Jordan could be top ten.

There's a few teams at the end there that run 3-4's and dont have a lot of needs. I could see him going to KC , Baltimore , NE , NYJ , Pittsburgh or GB.

Those teams have something in common other than good QB play , they get the fact that games are won and lost up front.

I think Pitt will go with Pouncey & Pats may look at Aaron Williams @ #28 or he might be there #33.
