It's kind of a red flag to me. How did he play between 280 and 290 and then weigh in at 307 for the combine just to bench press??? |

I don't know hos he's going to play at 307 so I cannot project that at all. As previously stated, IMO, I feel like Peterson is not even worth top 15 and Amukamara should not even be in the first round. I'm also not comfortable with Harris and Taylor in the first round for different reasons. Harris had fewer good tapes and more bad tapes than Jackson or McCourty. Taylor lacks too much in the pass rush department to be projected so high. In the old NFL where the running game was still much in play, he would stand a better chance; but in today's NFL, investing first round dollar in Taylor is very risky, IMHO. |

Solder is a terrific prospect, may be the best in class, but that is a projection based of measureables. He does not dominate on tape to me more like flashes so the team who drafts him needs to be patient developing him. Not even sure if he should start immediately?
Anybody who didn't know Tyron got scoped has not been paying attention. Pretty standard procedure for lineman to clean up. Smart move, means he's being handled, taking care of himself & will payoff whoever drafts him. We will see about Taylor. I think he will surprise people. Thanks for the feedback.

It's rare that a college o-lineman comes into the league as a complete player. Joe Thomas and Jake Long, maybe. A guy like Solder will need coaching, for sure. And an offseason without the rookie camps and mini camps will hurt players like him. But does he have the measurables the previous top 10 LT picks had? Yes, he does. Smith, Solder, and Julio Jones' combines have really improved or solidified their stock. That bodes well for the Texans to have a top defender drop to them at #11.

Re-worked our Big Board. Tell me what you guys think about movement/adjustments. Blue represents rising value. Red signifies drop. unchanged in black.
1. Nick Fairley, Auburn, (Jr.), 6-4, 298 Needs to be up for discussion. He looks more like a 5 technique DE after watching him in drills & compared to the thicker DT's. http://eye-on-football.blogs.cbsspor...75988/27782334 2. Patrick Peterson, DB, LSU - 6'1 - 222 Elite. Nothing changed really, looked the part. 3. Marcell Dareus, DT, Alabama - 6'3 - 306 Demise greatly exaggerated, showed up @ the combine & looked the part of neighborhood bully. Fluid in all his drills. 4. Da'Quan Bowers, DE, Clemson - 6'4 - 280 His big day is coming (Pro-Day) still rehabbing. 5. A.J. Green, WR, Georgia - 6'4 - 212 Living on game film. fluid. But lacks long speed I thought ran only 4.48. I like him even less than Julio after the combine but its your guys call? 6. Robert Quinn, DE, North Carolina - 6'5 - 268 Biggie sized Von Miller, looked smooth & fluid in drills 7. Julio Jones, WR, Alabama - 6'4 - 220 Inched way closer to AJ for top WR ranking, just killed it, on a broken foot. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/s...y-on-left-foot 8. Cameron Jordan - DE, California - 6'4 - 287 Solid, unbelievable measurable for position (5 tech DE) better character, bloodlines than Fariley. 9. Cameron Newton, QB, Auburn - 6'5 - 248 lots & lots of baggage. hurt himself in throwing drills @ combine 10. Von Miller, DE, Texas A&M - 6'3 - 246 Good forty time (4.42) but thought his technique work in drills showed some holes, lacks patience. Fools Gold closer to #11. 11. Blaine Gabbert, Missouri, (Jr.), - 6'5 - 235 Actually helped himself by not throwing @ combine compared to others who did & he ran a surprising 4.62 forty. In the end he may be the Texans best shot to move up & dislodge a defensive player down? 12. Tyron Smith, OT USC - 6'6 - 290 Bigger than advertised. 37" freaking long arms, natural knee bender w/surprising strength & mobility. Another canidate for Top 10 thus bumping another defensive prospect down for Texans. 13. J.J. Watt, DE/DT, Wisconsin - 6'5 - 290 Ran great, performed well in drills, body looks pumped up. 14. Prince Amukamara, DB, Nebraska - 6'1 - 205 Not the second best CB in drills. ran great forty (4.43) however, little too stiff in hips, plays high. 15. Aldon Smith, DE/OLB Missouri - 6'5 - 260 Looks the part of an elite pass rusher. 16. Anthony Costanzo – OT, Boston College - 6'7 - 308 Ready to plug-in starting line-up. Great combine, tough. 17. Nate Solder, OT, Colorado - 6'9 - 315 Know the story once LT's come off board they go in bunches. measured up to billing. 18. Ryan Kerrigan, DE, Purdue - 6'4 - 263 Looked good in drills showed he can stand-up. 19. Adrian Clayborn, DE, Iowa - 6'4 - 285 Looked fast/powerful in drills, can provide edge rush, ran 4.83. 20. Akeem Ayers, LB, UCLA - 6'4 - 255 Dropped with slow forty (4.80). Poor technique with start (lost a couple tenths first 10 yards) can improve easy with coaching, once out of blocks he looked fast & smooth. Football skills exhibited in drills superior to Von Miller. 21. Brandon Harris, CB, Miami - 5'11 - 195 Ran only 4.53 but looked like the best CB of group in drill work. Fluid, good bender that picks up quick instruction. 22. Martez Wilson, ILB, Illinois - 6'4 - 250 Welcome addition to Big Board. WOW in drills, his stock could keep rising. http://www.scoresreport.com/2011/02/...grams-40-time/ 23. Mike Pouncey – OG, Florida - 6'4 - 310 Did nothing special expect is exact match to his brother, drafted 18th overall by Pittsburgh who was voted on the Pro-Bowl team. 24. Cameron Heyward, DE/DT, Ohio State - 6'3 - 281 Smaller than advertised but faster 4.78. Seems solid all around player. 25. Muhammad Wilkerson, DT, Temple - 6'5 - 305 Smaller school prospect breaking into the Big Board. Big, strong & athletic enough to play 5 technique or NT in a Wade Phillips 3-4. 26. Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin - 6"7 - 315 He is not quick, in fact he is kinda slow but he is a workhorse & give 100% effort plus he is a tackle which teams need. 27. Marvin Austin, DT, North Carolina - 6'2 - 312 Character concerns aside, he's been penalized despite still under investigation. Should be in top 10 discussion along with Farley & Dareus from talent evaluation stand-point. 28. Mark Ingram, RB, Alabama - 5'9 1/8 - 215 4.62 forty hurts but did show explosive burst from snap (1st ten yard time) Emmitt Smith comparison still valid but needs similar power style of running game/OL to be that productive 29. Justin Houston, LB Georgia - 6'3 - 270 Could stand up & rush the passer but movement out of control will have difficulty dropping into coverage, a liability. Not the ideal 3-4 OLB projected earlier. 30. Derek Sherrod, OT, Mississippi State - 6'5 - 331 Lacks polish but has athletic ability to play LT. 31. Stephen Paea, DT, Oregon State - 6'1 - 295 All ready knew he played strong but 49 reps that looked easy? What a bear, could not do drills but can verify he is very agile & athletic. 32. Phillip Taylor, NG/NT, Baylor - 6'3 1/2" - 334 Leave put, showed well in drills, keeping weight down, could wind up more effective under 330. dropped out - Ryan Mallett, QB, Arkansas - 6'6 - 238 displayed immaturity & some past personal problems Jake Locker, QB, Washington - 6'3 - 230 he actually did ok, but unless a team really needs a QB he should fall into 2nd Drake Nevis – DT, LSU - 6'1 - 285 lost out to Paea in weight room Jimmy Smith, CB Colorado - 6'2 - 201 Reported did not impress during interviews which was extra important for him given character concerns. Mikel LeShoure, RB, Illinois, (Jr.), - 6'0 - 227 Bigger frame than compact Ingram, but not as explosive to LOS, slightly better long speed in weak RB class.
