As long as they pulled it together for teams we "should beat" (not sure if thats anyone at this point...) and keep it a little more respectable against the good teams, I think we can pull together to .500 or so. There's no way the team keeps up this garbage show...

Dude (David Carr) is shot... mentally. He's been a deer in headlights since the Denver game last year. This coaching staff has succeeded in breaking a potentially very good quarterback. Now it's time to bring in some coaches that he can trust to protect him and provide a system with some hope of producing.
The next step in the process... the coaching staff will start blaming Carr for all of the problems as they scramble for their jobs. |

before we cut Carr let him call his own plays I doubt he runs every time on 1st down. the Texans have moved the ball in the past by passing effectivly to run the ball. does anyone remember last years season opener? everyone was ready to cut Domanick Davis. the play calling sucks plain & simple, its not gonna work against a solid defense like the Bills especially up front, you have to attack vertically down the field and challenge the db's and Palmer refused to give Carr the opportunity. it was a no win situation from the start of the game despite the defense bending but never breaking

Carr is absolutely part of the problem. He has no confidence and no idea how to run this "offense". It is the coaches that have created this situation by beating the crud out of him for 3 years. |

The offensive line did not give Carr consistent time to throw. If you think that's true then there's nothing I or anyone else can do for you. You live in your own little world. When Carr did have time he wasted it. Anyone who thinks that's not true is equally deluded and hopeless. Carr makes stupid mistakes. As you said he can't read a defense to save his life. He throws the ball away from between the tackles. He runs out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. He still hasn't figured out how to slide correctly. He looks at AJ and then DD, then scrambles or takes a sack depending on the circumstances at the time. How did he get here? Easy, he's been "developed" in our patented Houston Texans system. Remember Chris Palmer? The "genius" who developed such QB legends as Drew Bledsoe, Rob Johnson, and Tim Couch? David Carr is a product of his handywork. He wasn't this way when he got here (completely) and you would expect these things to improve. They haven't. Lay that at the feet of whoever you think is responsible but that's the way it is.

He had better protection in that first game against Dallas. He also was much more confident and people actually seemed to be open for him to throw to. Some teams adjust over the years and others fall behind. This team hasn't done much evolving.

First , is'nt Carr out of the Tedford line of QBs of Dilfer ,Volek ,Carr , Boller and Rogers .I think they should go to the no huddle offense and let Carr play for a while . If you give up now Ragone better be capable of carrying a team or we're back to the drawing board . |
