Default Depressed

For the first time in NINE years I'm thinking about missing a home game! Just don't know how much more I can take of this bullsh*t!! Probably my mood will change before Sunday, but, right now, at 0830 on Nov 2nd, I don't want to see another down of Texan football!! My obsession with this team has come to an end. My loyalty will remain because they are my home team, and I reserve the right to be passionate about them, but, when I feel so DOWN and depressed over a stupid football game, I need to refocus my thoughts, and my passion.

Sorry BC for being such a downer this morning, but, I've had enough!!! I needed to vent!

Being a fan of the Houston Texans kind of sucks sometimes. Im right there with you. Its one thing to lose games here and there. To lose because you didn't care enough (Cowboys) is just a slap in the face. To lose because you didn't play intelligently (Colts) is frustrating as heck.

I have received 3 texts this morning from friends who said the same thing, not sure if they wanted to go... I told them they had to, can't jump off now when they are playing the way they are. Ride it out with the rest of us.. All we can do is BOO... Even though I am sick of the way I am feeling today, cannot turn our backs on them.. shoot, they were 2-14 not too long ago. Trying to be positive here, but not going should not be an option !! Win,lose or draw, my voice will be heard...as yours should too !

If I was not taking my brother and sister in law this weekend I would not go. The trip from Austin is getting tougher for these games. Right now I feel like a junkie going to get a dose every week.

A bad day of fishing is so much better than watching this team.

Sorry to hear. I've been there. Everyone has to find their own balance and what works for them. For me, I decided to stop spending money on the team. I watch every down of football, usually more than once, and I wear my gear and prop them up every chance I get. But I refuse to spend any more money on this team. I sold my PSLs and season tickets and now I have a great seat with an HD view, all the really good beer I want, the convenience of my own kitchen and restroom, and a pause button.

The losses still irk me, but I no longer actually feel depressed or pissed off when they lose. And as a side benefit, tuition is easier to meet these days.

This is how I felt after the Monday night Tacks game last yr.

I still out to the stadium and give uncle BoB my $$$$. But I've lost my passion for this regime. These games seem to mean more to the great fans of the HOUSTON TEXANS than they do to the players and upper management. Mediocrity is the order of the day for Texans management. This was proven when uncle BoB gave Kubes that contract extention. 7-9,9-7 is good enough for uncle BoB.

And the sheeple will continue to go to the trough (stadium) and relinquish their hard earned $$$ to uncle BoB and all is well in Texans land.

Man, I can relate. I am feeling close to the same myself. I just got to not let it get to me this much, somehow, someway. I am not walking away from my tix or nothing right now. But let's just call it a severe lowering of expectations.

I thought we were going places this season. It's evident to me now that we are not. It doesn't matter how many more games we win in miraculous fashion. The season is done. This team is like the Astros.......just good enough to get your hopes so they can turn around and rip your heart out.

Glad I'm not the only one. I will still support and root for the Texans; they will always be my team. But I will not continue to be optimistic about their chances as long as this regime is in charge. I've been telling myself for the last three years, that it was the year we make the playoffs. At this point, I'll be excited about a playoff berth when they actually clinch a spot.

IF you find me SITTING DOWN in the Bullpen don't say a word. If our boys give me a good reason to stand, then I will. If not, I will start a SITOUT! Wonder how they would feel if they looked into the Bullpen and everyone was SITTING down and just staring at them rather than standing. Forget it, I doubt they would care.

Thank you for starting this thread. My Dad is coming in for this game so I will be there. But after that...I dunno either.

I don't like having to stand in line to get a little check mark on my ticket (maybe I should put like 10 on there myself and see what they do..lol). I should be able to show it as I walk by.

I was bent about the roof being left open and when I wrote in they sent me an attachment that said it was 76 degrees (or thats what they said it was. I just deleted it and took the hint). It was 95+ in the bull pen and I was in the shade.

Makes me feel like being married....I always say "She don't mind and I don't matter." They make me feel the same way.
