Out of town Tailgaters for this Sunday in need of suggestions

Hey guys I will be in Houston along with two co-workers and we're going to take in the Texans game this Sunday against the G-Men. We'd like to know where are the best places to go for tailgating at Reliant?

We're coming from Richmond, VA and will only have Virginia Peanuts to barter for food and beers (of course we'll bring some cash donations as well)

I've heard the tailgating here is second to none and am looking forward to partying with Texans. I heard everything is done big in Texas!

You should still be able to tailgate, but I think some people have concerns about how 'lively' it will be...

If you have game tickets, you should be good to go. If not, you may be SOL.

If you read the OP, they have tickets....or why would they be coming in from Virginia ???
I'm over in the Orange Lot... but unless you want to be surrounded by about 25 Giants fans, I am sure the Blue Crew would be glad to have you.. You are welcome over to mine if you so chose, as there will be my regular Texans fans there as well.. this is the 1 game every 4 years I go to the dark side!

Definitely welcome to join the Blue Crew! LOVE to take care of OOT fans, esp Texan fans. Even if you're a Giants fan you will find a safe and friendly tailgate to talk football, eat until you drop, free beer at the Giants game, and just good times!! We're located in the front corner of the platinum lot, very easy to find, and close to the stadium. Corner of Kirby and Westridge.

I'm sure someone will post another map soon!

Don't worry about all the chatter about the new tailgating policy. If you have a ticket to the game, you are good to go. The policy changed in order to help keep out riff-raff, gangs, vandalism, thefts, and people who just want to cause trouble. We became the NFLs #1 Tailgating venue this past year, and unfortunatly, along with that title came some people (I hesitate to use the word fan) who took that to mean free party time, thus prompting the new policy. You'll have a fantastic time, I'm sure, regardless of where you tailgate. Budweiser Plaza, on the South side of Reliant, facing 610 loop always has a variety of fun things to do. Music, cheerleaders, food, face painting, etc. PLUS, the Texans store is there, a great place to unload some of your money!! Come early and take in ALL of the festivities!! Reliant is an awesome stadium, and Daddy Bob has given us a great place to play on gameday!! Don't miss anything!!

Hey guys thanks for all the feedback. We actually don't have tickets in hand yet. We were hoping to tailgate and snag a few from people selling them before the game. But it seems like what you guys are saying is that we will need tickets just to get in to tailgate, do I have that right?

Yes, that is correct. Either game day tickets or tailgating passes.

check this board and snag your tickets then make plans to show up around 8 am park at the park plaza hotel, then walk across the street to the Blue Crew. Heck we might be able to scrounge tickets froms some Blue Crewers if we are lucky, I first would like to welcome you from the great state of virginia. Now get ready for some football.

-Drop bags off at Hotel
-Taxi to Platinum lot

Which airport are you coming into?

Oh yeah one more thing what instructions should I give the taxi driver to get to the platinum lot, just in case he doesn't know where it is. Are there any landmarks near by?

Crowne Plaza is across the street from Platinum lot. IAH is about 45 min. to a hour away.

No we're just in town all week for an industry conference so we decided to get in a little early to catch the game.

I'm a Jets fan so I naturally hate the G-Men, my co-worker is a Ravens fan and not sure about the other guy, maybe a Redskins fan by default due to our proximity DC

Sounds like what I will be up to next week at the Jags/Titans MNF game. As a Houston fan I naturally hate the Titans so will have a pretty strong rooting interest. I thought since I will be close and there are plenty of tix I would go.

I lived in NY for some years and became a Giants fan up there. I also liked the Jets too. The Jets/Giants hatred is pretty much a one way street. Most Giants fans I know are indifferent to the Jets.

I personally hate when this game comes up every 4 years. I will be rooting for the Texans however this is not a good week for the Giants to lose. They picked up a little momentum last week and to turn around and lose the following week I think will seriously affect their season.
