Sorry, I'm a newbie & didn't know how everyone would feel about that, so I left it at it's default, which was off.


I can look to see if it will let me turn it on, if that's what everyone (or even most everyone) wants.

I think most people prefer it disabled.

I usually play in at least one league that's straight up picks like what we have and then one league with the confidence enabled.

I personally don't care one way or another as long as I have 1 straight up pickem league.

Along with all my fantasy teams, I've got a pickem league and a pick against the spread league. Picking against the spread is tough

One more question; don't know if everyone has peeked at the standings but it seems like 5 folks are in 1st place and umpteen folks are in 6th place. We all have one correct. WTH? Why isn't everyone who didn't try to pick an upset (meaning pick the Vikes) in 1st place??

The five people who are in first picked New Orleans to score the most points this week which is the second tie breaker. Considering the Saints only scored 14 points I would assume that a lot of teams will score more points this week.

I like the strategy aspect of having confidence points but really it's no big deal. It's fine the it is as far as I'm concerned. Let's have fun.

No. It might sound arrogant and I don't have the pick record to back this up, but I don't pay attention to what others do entirely. Of course I like to see the trend, but in the end I go where I go. Same with baseball-type fantasy games. They are fans of all types, some informed, some not. Actually, if I had to guess what percentage of football fans in this country had extensive knowledge of the Texans I would go with, say, 16%.

As for this situation most people in the nation (I think) watch ESPN and get little to no insight on many teams, Texans included.

So, I was talking to this guy I work with in Culver City, CA. And he's talking about all the great games this weekend and how picking the games is kinda tough. And he listed a couple of the tough games and I mentioned the Colts @ Texans. And he said to me, "Dude. I hate to break it to you but that game's really easy to call. No way in hell the Texans win."

And so I said, "Dude. Texans win that game. Period."

And he told me I was a homer and that he'd buy me a case of Diet Dr. Pepper if the Texans win. So I told him, "Cool, thanks for the case, I appreciate it."

He laughed.

And I asked so what would you have wanted in the remote outside chance that the Colts were able to find a way to win. And he said that the event of the Colts losing was so remote that he'd feel like he was stealing from me if I had to give him anything. So he just wants me to call and say I was wrong.

I can't wait to get a case of DDP from that smug Raider fan.

To be honest: I picked the Colts to win only because I don't want to be a homer and be wrong. I would much rather be wrong with Houston winning.
