The problem is that if you identify yourself as #1 fan and you present yourself in a nasty way to the rest of the world, it reflects poorly on the fanbase. I'm a Longhorn alum, and I cringe when people calling as "Longhorn Scott" or whatever, call up and say silly or nasty things. Of course, you can call any sports radio program you want and defend the team--I'm just guessing most of Texan fans would prefer you do it without going a little over the top.

You could make the same point you wanted to make without, for example, using a derogatory name for Marc. So instead people focusing on the point you wanted to make--"hey, why don't you challenge these national guys," fans here are mostly focusing on the rude name you called Marc.

You can disagree with someone without being disagreeable. You call Second Honeymoon a troll, but when you say the nasty things you are saying, it takes away from your point and makes you look like you are a troll.

Basically, when you call someone a name, it reflects more on the person doing the name calling then it does on the person that is called the name. Whatever you think of Marc's opinions, I think it is pretty indisputable that he's a nice guy.

Joe, I know your heart is in the right place, but I have to say that the title of this thread sickens me. I know you are better than that. You want to rep the fans, and defend whatever honor you want to defend. Cool, I'm with you on that.

You're basically saying "screw anyone" who doesn't say positive things about the Texans no matter what the situation is with the team. And you're not the #1 fan either just so ya know. There is no #1 fan and there is no "worst fan" out there. If they are a fan, then they are a fan and they are entitled to think or judge a team however they want.

And as far as Houston radio hosts go, as a "Texans fan" I'd much rather listen to some guys that tell it like they see it and are objective and knowledgable about the team. If that means that they are critical about the Texans or any other Houston team than so be it. If the analysis is well informed and comes from someone who follows the team very closely, then I'd want to hear their honest thoughts instead of some cheerleading material just because they're in Houston.

I agree with a lot of what you said but Joe's a passionate fan with a heart of gold for the kids. I share that same passion and am proud to have my kids swing at their pinatas. Blue crew has opened their arms unlike any i've known in the houston Texan nation.
