Texans going all defense 1st night of the draft?
say Texans part ways with Dunta? doesn't the prioity need become an elite or close to as possible shutdown cornerback? then depth of underclassman push bpa to Texans is a DT, FS or LB? hey, it could happen. Thoughts- |

Round 1: Thursday
Round 2-3: Friday Round 4-7: Saturday With that said, it wouldn't surprise me if we can address OG and RB during free agency, we could go Defense in rounds 1-3. |

That's why they interviewed D.Williams and Wilson. If a G like Asamoah or M.Johnson falls to the 3rd rd they should draft him as BPA at a position of need. A FA signing and drafting Johnson or Asamoah would solve the short yardage/red zone problems. I could see some combination of a DT and CB in rds 1-2. |

If the Texans fill the RB/OL needs going with CB/S in rds 1/2 is what I would do.
I was throwing DT in the mix because the Texans were talking to D.Williams at the Sr. Bowl. Tennessee DT's usually do well in the NFL. (Henderson,Haynesworth,Ratliff) Either way and I wouldn't have a problem. |

I'm beginning to think that Kyle Wilson in the 1st is a good idea even if it is a bit of a reach. I think he's going to have a great combine and solidify himself as a 1st round pick. Depending on what we do in FA, I'd rather have Nate Allen in the 2nd round. 1. Kyle Wilson-CB 2. Nate Allen-FS 3. Cam Thomas-DT This would do wonders for our secondary. We'd pick up a good OG (Chris Kuper from Denver) in FA. This doesn't concentrate on the running game like Kubiak wants to do but it sure would help our defense. |

Yea, he does. He had a good senior bowl. The thing about Patrick Robinson is that he played 80% man coverage at FSU. It's hard to get picks when you are the ONLY guy defending a receiver over the middle or deep down the sidelines. Robinson would be covering a top receiver with no safety help on a regular basis in every game of the past 2 years. He was left on an island more than any guy I have seen in college football the past 2 years. As a result, he is well seasoned in man coverage but probably needs more experience in zone. The guy can seriously cover people man to man, and is a willing tackler. If we feel we have a huge need at corner, I wouldn't be unhappy with Patrick Robinson.
But is our need at corner more than our need at FS? At corner we have Quin who really is a #2 at this point, but he is young. Reeves is a solid #3 and depending on how well he is tackling can be a solid #2. McCain is a nice #4 guy. Bennett and Molden can duke it out for #5. We do need a #1 corner, but we have young guys at the position still growing. Look at FS, we've never had a promising FS. If Thomas is there, I am taking him over any corner in the draft outside of Joe Haden. However, we will have to address corner somehow if we don't resign Dunta. I wouldn't be opposed to using the top 2 draft picks on the secondary. Anybody see Lindley play today? He looked really bad. |
